My neighbor just sent me something from X of a bunch of army dudes deployed somewhere watching that exchange on TV and then asking out loud “well then where the fuck are we?”

By the way voting for someone because you hate the opponent that much is ridiculous IMO.
That’s like saying I’d rather get shot then stabbed. (having experienced both though I would agree with that statement. lol.)

He ain’t even close to Dom. O’Malley has had one successful defense, Dom had 4, was stripped due to injury, came back and won it again, and defended one more time. Dom is way underrated around here imo.

He will be tho if he beats Merab and Umar. He could make it consenus especially if you add on a win against Figgy or Yan in a rematch imo. I think he is capable of doing it if he gets past Merab this weekend.

If he beats Merab and Umar, he’ll still be 2 defenses short. Plus Cruz got one of those defenses by beating a guy people thought was the 2.0 version of him, after career-ending injuries.

He has a defense against Chito tho. I think Umar and Merab are certainly higher caliber fighters than Dildoshaw and Faber. I dunno how much stock to put into title defenses because based on that metric, Bendo>Khabib…

I like O’Malley, I’m not a hater. I think he’s a legitimate talent. But while he beat Aljo, he didn’t surpass Aljo, who has great resume with 3 defenses. He didn’t beat Dillashaw, who has 2 defenses, lost the belt, won it back and defended it again. He can worry about passing them first.

I’m pretty confident that they all would beat the breaks of TJ. But I suppose I’ll hold my horses because a lot of my beliefs on Omalley depends on a lot of “ifs”. I think guys like Yan and Aljo are on a level above most of Dom’s comp. Look what Yan did to Faber and Aldo (granted they were Vets but still).
