is this a whole bunch of mma fans that are here for mma but also want to talk politics so they come to this forum when then want to change it up? Or is this mostly people who are on sherdog to specifically discuss politics?

I'm an mma fan, but I haven't watched any Ppv's in years. Still watch the occasional Bellator and I train.

With all the heated discussions and funny insults, this is the funnest forum around, and more informative than watching news on the television.

I agree about the "funness" of this forum relative to the others, but I'm still a big MMA fan. Mostly check the HWs right before or after a big event.

MMA fan, don't train as much as I used to, still watch but not many PPV's. But the heavies can drive a hole in my head.

I used to do BJJ and was a regular and heavy poster in grappling forum. Had to give up BJJ but the other boards are still enjoyable, except the heavies.

I came for the MMA forums, and stayed for the political forum.

I don't follow the MMA forums much at all anymore, but I still catch the odd PPV

You think the WR is a Mad house - i cant even make it 5 mins in the heavies without having a mind melt.

I am less of an MMA fan than i was several years ago and i find this forum (WR) a solid mix of people from all different views - which i like over one dedicated to a specific common mindset

Its sadly easier to keep up with politics, science, history etc than it is with all the different fighters and events in the UFC.

I get the feeling most of us are long time MMA fans and most of us have trained somewhat. I just prefer the act of political discussion over MMA or general discussion. Even with the craziness in here, the IQ is a lot higher.

heavies is the worst by far. i'd rather be chained in a closet with ripskater while he force lectures me about the sins of homosexuality than spend any time in the heavies.

although i do like reading the heavies after a big and controversial fight. people go apeshit and it's all free entertainment.

I like martial arts always, I'm up and down on prizefighting.

I took some self defense class for 7 months. That was years ago. I don't do it anymore. I don't pay much attention to mma anymore.

I wouldn't go in the closet with you in the first place.

Better to be chained in a closet with someone lecturing on the sins of homosexuality, than with someone advocating for it.

I know were not allowed to laugh at shit like that any more cuz it might trigger someone but that was a good one friend

I came here for MMA but it's nice to have a place to talk about the stuff that we do in here. Plus there are times when the MMA forums turn into TMZ.

Although there are times the WR can be too much too. So it provides a good balance. I'd still post if either one of the rooms was shut down.

I mostly just lurk in the heavies after an event. That place is a cess pit.

The war room is full of characters, diverse ideas, and sharp people from all walks of life. You can't help but learn new things here.

Be careful in that closet with @ripskater. He was a pitcher.

I was brought here by the old Supergreg highlight videos I downloaded off Napster/Kazaa. Lurked for ages for the MMA news, then got sucked into commenting when they made the War Room (just before they switched from the blue colour scheme).
I still mostly just read MMA news/threads, but comment on politics.
At the moment I watch all the UFC, Bellator and Glory events, plus local shows.
