Tomorrow night, Alan Belcher faces Yushin Okami, in the hopes of getting one step closer to a coveted shot against a great & mysterious Spider, sitting atop the MW mountain. It is my opinion that every man, woman, and child should be rooting for Alan Belcher tomorrow night. Here are 3 reasons why. * * * 1. He's a great, exciting fighter. Well-rounded, tough as nails, Alan Belcher is never in a boring fight. (Superman punch + Pettis kick = Belcherman Pettipunch) Currently riding a 4-fight win streak, looking to make it 5 tomorrow night, Alan is deep into a serious run for a title shot in the UFC's Middleweight division. Along the way, he played footsie with the Mike Tyson of leglocks... and won. Holy fucking shit! Not only did he not get twisted into a pretzel, but ALAN almost hit a twister himself, on one of the most vicious bone-twisters in the game!!! Amazing. 2. He's a sherdogger. That's right. Not only is he a warrior inside the Octagon... Alan has risen through the ranks, surpassed most of his peers, worked hard, and achieved that highest, truest title & honor of the elite in MMA: Alan is a certified Keyboard Warrior. Sherdog Mixed Martial Arts Forums - View Profile: Alan Belcher And hey, I love people from every part of the world... and all due respect to Thunder... but let's face it... Yushin Okami no speaky teh sherdog. We'll never see him on here, chatting it up with us, the way Alan does. (Yushin Okami Thank You!) 3. He's a good person. No one knows this story, but here it is. Way earlier this year, in the spring, a long-standing member of these forums died in a car accident. (RIP Kansas.) Alan heard about this, and behind the scenes, without being asked, offered to help. Charity, make a video, something, anything he could do to raise some money for the sherdogger's family, as he left behind a wife and kids. As it turned out, in the end - amazingly - Kansas had already prepared for something like that financially, so his family is being cared for, and thus there was no need. (Impressive, huh? May we all learn by his example...) ^^ Now normally, any one of those three reasons alone, would be enough for me to root for a fighter. But all three, together? So, here's the deal. Unless your last name is Okami, you'd better be rooting for Alan Belcher tomorrow night... ... if you know what's good for you. WAR ALAN BELCHER!!! Good luck tomorrow night brother! WHO'S WITH ME??? (Above: Alan borrows Urijah's cornrows, and Wilson Gouveia is temporarily blinded by the awesomeness.)
Heart says Belcher, head says Okami. Alan made me a shit load of money when he beat Palhares but I always seem to hate favouring people against Okami because he nearly always manages to grind everyone. With that said, Alan looks like he's improved leaps and bounds every fight he comes out and I'd definitely favour Belcher over Boetsch. So by the laws of MMAMath: War Belcher!
I fell for the "Paul Harris is a violent madman on the ground" argument. It still may be the case but Alan made me a fan after stifling Rousimar. Thread just for you Alan, you got it!
You lost me at the pic where he had corn rows. I dislike any human white guy with corn rows. But you won me back with the puppy. War Belcher!
