Nothing funnier than a bunch of 14 year olds who come on here to say "it's business" and "it's all about the money", when defending retarded matchmaking and blatant Zuffa favoritism.

Do you guys tune in for the mma, or are you more concerned with how much richer Dana and the Ferttitas will get off the next show?

It's like Zuffa literally pays shills to post here....

Precisely

I don't give a damn about the money

I want fair match ups

I want to see champions defend their belt, as that is the whole point of this all. I don't think that is too much to ask. If the UFC can't sell their current champs then that's on them.

That's how they conduct their business. I don't like it and I'm not defending it, just merely noting that is what the facts of the matter are, and they do not seem to be changing any time soon. Profit is their main motivator and legitimate competition and sport takes a backseat to that. Take that info and react accordingly.

I concur, word for word.

My perspective is from a fans perspective obviously. Sometimes, or probably often times, the UFC does stuff I hate that is actually smart. I feel like a lot of times though they cheapen the product and make a mockery of the "sport" to make quick money and also favor some fighters. As I see it, I would be more of a fan and spend more money if I liked the product more. These things I feel cheapen the product make me less of a UFC fan. Don't know if I would call myself a UFC fan even, but I love MMA and they have the best fighters.

Bellator has proven to be a lot worse though in regards to putting up terrible crap fights only for the money.

After watching GSP duck every interesting matchup in other weight classes and snooze his way through sparring sessions for 5+ years, I find this refreshing.

Dana and company are finally "striking while the iron is hot."

They learned the hard way when GSP cock blocked super fights.

Well said my friend. I never understand the people who argue Zuffa's point of view, and endorse what's best for business.

Exactly. Preach brother

The other group that gets me are the ones that are always "embarrassed" over trivial stuff that casuals won't care about.

To be fair GSP didn't duck LWs (or former LWs).

Examples: Serra, Serra (twice), Penn, Penn (twice), Sherk etc

I want to see the best fight the best. That's why I'm a UFC fan. I'm an mma fan because I love the sport. I want to see the best fw in the world defend his belt against the #1 contender. It sucks but it's life.

Sherdog is a strange minority. People like TS think people want to see Conor vs Frankie or Aldo 2 or Ferguson or some other matchup.

UFC's biggest male PPV draw right now not named Conor Mcgregor is Nick Diaz. Diaz was the biggest ppv buy of the former PPV king GSP whose retirement was a catalyst to the current landscape.

Therefore although not nick, Nate Diaz carries the name and therefore brings more viewers. This is marketing 101.

The biggest PPV draw of all time is Brock Lesnar. The biggest fight of all time is Lesnar vs Mir 2. GSP vs Diaz is a very near 2nd or - 4th place. I'll have to check on that one. The point is that people want to watch guys like Lesnar, Mcgregor, and Diaz. Not Cro-Cop. Frankie Edgar, or Tony Ferguson.

MOE

What's funny is that people are only just realizing this shit now.

I don't see why they don't poll fans to see what matches they'd drop their $$ on. Not sure if that's a feasible idea but surely that'd make sense. Test the waters like releasing a few potential match up videos on Youtube or something, see which generates the most interest. Seems like polls on here show the majority are against the McG v Diaz rematch so it doesn't seem like this fight will generate the maximum PPV buys.
