They got the guy, why isn't he talking? Why she still out there!? I mean the fuck
I think the sad (probably) reality is more or less this :
- he's been taken back to Alabama on kidnapping charges.
- he's probably been advised (just a guess) by counsel to deny anything else completely. Basically unless and until this girl's body is found, they might not be able to throw a homicide (or other) charges at him. So my guess is he'll likely just say nothing and wait. If they find the girl (alive or not alive) then that will v likely provide enough evidence for homicide or other gruesome assault charges.

i would guess that they should bring in an EXPERT negotiation team (FBI maybe am sure they're trained on that) to lever the info out of him by whatever means necessary. They prob say look if you tell us where she is, we can plea deal this down to xyz years, and you'll avoid a death sentence (maybe).

Just my speculation on the way it might go. I DO agree that there must have been someone else to drive BOTH cars and so someone else v likely knows where this girl is, and his cellphone records probably very useful on : calls in/out and texts in/out, and cellphone tower pings etc. Am certain they'll arrest several other people for questioning, known associates etc.

As a father of daughters this has really bothered me. If a UFC heavyweight can’t protect his daughter in this world what hope do I have? Fucking sick world, all I can can each my kids is if you want to be safe in your surroundings, you need to be hyper vigilant and pack heat. 95% of the male population can easily over power a woman. The greatest equalizer and a right afforded to us (in the USA) in the constitution is the right to carry a firearm. If you are going to be a alone as a woman you need to have a plan of action. It sucks that this is the state of affairs, but if she had means of self protection, she at least had a chance.

Either way, hoping with all my heart that she is found tied up somewhere alive. That poor family.
At the very least, I think it's a very good idea for women to carry pepper-spray. It's legal in most States, and YES it's legal in Alabama, where this girl was attacked.
Sabre-Red is very powerful stuff :

a key-ring spray is only US$10 and it could totally save anyone's life or give a much better chance to allow escape from an attacker.

Hate to speculate but she most likely met him on social media or something of the sort .. this is all to common these days .

Who knows what a real database would show, but patterns being patterns, wondering if the social media "Eric" thing was a bullshit waste of time and this was another really violent robbery, random rather than targeted.

Here's the judge who allowed him out on bail...

Can't have violent criminals in prison taking up cells for nonviolent criminals.

I keep checking this thread everyday hoping for good news, but im starting to lose hope that she is still alive. Hope im wrong.
Not to be a downer but court records showed they found her blood in the vehicle that was indicitive of a life threatening injury. It's been two weeks and she's had no medical attention.

Safe to say this situation is the worst case scenario and her family will never be the same. I just hope they recover her remains quickly so she can have a proper burial and her family can begin the long healing process.

I really wish we had harsher punishment for murderers. Being locked in a cage for life with friends and everything provided for them isn't a punishment. The death penalty is too easy. Burn a few murderers alive in a cage and maybe it will give some sick people second thoughts.

Fucked up people with mental illness will commit horrible acts of violence no matter the penalty. A better job keeping them off the streets would be good. So this POS Judge really needs to be held accountable. No slap on the wrist for this bitch. She needs to be fired and possibly jailed. Her decision to let him walk around free, cost an innocent young girl her life. Unforgivable..

I do agree. Keeping them in jail is the first step. Too bad our prisons are filled with non-violent drug offenders that have mental health and addiction problems where locking them in a cage does nothing for them. Well atleast some multi million dollar company makes even more millions from the slave wage labor they provide.

Again the code of bs ethics that led her to do this is sadly the norm, this is not out of the ordinary. She is not just a bad apple every judge following the ABA's code of ethics is risking this happening and are going to get a pat on the back rather than punished sadly.

World's a f##ked up place mate. I get where you're coming from. I often wonder if it's healthy being so informed. I feel obligated to pay attention but at the same time there's nothing I can do and well as I said I'm beginning to seriously doubt it's healthy.

It's not healthy.
There is absolutely nothing good that comes from being exposed to horrible headlines from around the world. Why should you or I know about a bus of school children crashing 600km away or a kidnapping in another country? News feeds get populated with fearsome headlines, no matter how far removed.
I suspect its no coincidence that the rise in apocalyptic and deeply pessimistic writing in the 17th century came on as book presses led to a wide circulation of pamphlets and newsletters, already following what would today be termed the 'if it bleeds, it leads'-paradigm. Today, given the sensationalistic nature of news portals and human psychology being what it is, we're feeling the effects tenfold: We perceive the world to be a much grimmer and more dangerous place, than it really is, and accordingly tend towards an idealization of the past, repressive politics and law-and-order-style strongmen ('If the world is full of dangerous agressive SOBs, I at least want a dangerous agressive SOB of my own.')
So yeah. Unplug and focus on what actually matters in your life.

(Yes, I'm fully aware of how I performatively contradicted myself by even posting here.. then again, human psychology being what it is ...)

Do you know any of the details of the case? The strength of the evidence? Procedural questions? I personally don’t, and I don’t think it’s a good idea to pass such strong judgments based on seeing a list of charges and nothing else.

There was a 77 year old victim in his vehicle who had been beaten “until he was unconscious, unresponsive, severely injured and near death“ when the cops pulled him over.

Hey mods, thanks for putting the banner back up. Hopefully this will all be resolved soon.

the suspect appeared in court today, and there is a gag order on this case.

"AUBURN, Ala. (WSFA) - The man police believe kidnapped Aniah Blanchard made his first appearance in court Sunday afternoon, but WSFA 12 News was denied access.

In a rare Sunday hearing during a long holiday weekend, kidnapping suspect Ibraheem Yazeed made his initial court appearance before Judge Russell Bush. The media - and a representative from the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office - were not let into the building. WSFA 12 News later learned a gag order has been issued in this case, something rarely seen at the district court level.

Suspects are scheduled for a first appearance before a judge within 72 hours after their arrest. Court proceedings are public hearings, and it’s unclear why this hearing was restricted. We questioned several officials, including the district attorney, but they declined to comment. Blanchard’s family was escorted out of the courthouse by deputies after the hearing concluded."

A gag order?
It's getting very intriguing.
