for those interested in the small guys. This looks like a good fight. Malinga is a powerful tall, come forward pressure fighter. Hasegawa is a masterful boxer, very quick, but little power. It looks to be a really good match up. For my money, Hasegawa on a points decision or late TKO....thoughts??

Sounds like it could be a good fight to me. I'll go with Hozumi Hasegawa by decision for another successful defense of his bantamweight title.

Malinga looked impressive in his destruction of Veeraphol, but to be honest Veeraphol looked past his best. It definetly won't be an easy fight for hasegawa as some are predicting. Power/pressure vs speed/technical ability

Hasagawa will likely box his way to a well deserved UD. Probably looking better than he is on the way.

Good to see some other boxers getting some love. Also, Oscar Larios and Takahiro Aoh are throwing down for the WBC 126-pound belt as well. Should be good stuff.

The question is when, if ever, Hasagawa will fight outside Japan.

What?, why should he? he is fighitng good international opposition in Japan. I don't see how that will do him any good career or business wise.

Hasegawa demolished Malinga in 1. On the same card Takahiro Aoh beat Larios on UPD.

Hasegawa couldnt miss with the left hand and just landed a thousand shots on Malinga's temple. He kept falling down...fight over.

Simple really.

Is that how you thought it would go? It surprised me to be honest. I've always seen Hasegawa as having relatively little power

No its not how I thought it would go. I thought Hasegawa would play with the slower, more predictable Malinga and win a easy decision.

Hasegawa has the ability to hurt you with that straight left hand though and he caught Malinga early and didn't let him off the hook.

Thats not how I thought it would go...but the fight played out in a very simple fashion. Hasegawa landed a good shot and kept landing it until the fight was stopped.

It surprised me a bit, especially since i was figuring on Hasegawa by decision. Great job on Hasegawa's part though.

I am a gymmate of hasegawa.
he suffered in weight loss this time.
his next fight rumored may be
against featherweight champion Chris Jon.
if he stay in Bantamweight,
big fight is only against vic darchinnyan in Las vegas as he said every time he wans to fight in LasVegas.

btw it is huge unfortunate his fight is on NTV Network.
their film work is too bad....not exciting.
worst one in Japanese TV network.
we demand Fuji TV like K-1 WGP...
