buddy of mine is going to US (New York) in a short while and I am thinking about buying a new GI (currently own PRIDE double weave GI which is a motherfucker to wear)

I am 6'2 and 190lbs (so you can call me tall and lanky - relatively long limbs)

after a brief surfing i came upon these 3 brands and here are my choices:

    https://www.jiujitsuprogear.com/Vulkan-ULTRA-Light-Gi-Navy-p/vulkan_gi_ultra-navy.htm

    https://www.jiujitsuprogear.com/Vulkan-PRO-Light-Gi-Blue-p/vulkan_gi_blue.htm

^btw whats the difference between pro light and ultra light?

    https://www.jiujitsuprogear.com/Keiko-Raca-Gi-Kimono-Limited-Black-p/keiko-gi-ltd-black.htm

    https://www.jiujitsuprogear.com/Jiu-Jitsu-Progear-Competition-Gi-Navy-p/jjpgcompginavy.htm

obviously i want a blue GI (darker the better)
I really don't want to spend more than 170$ on a GI (especially since i am also buying Hayabusa Chikara Shorts which dont come cheap..)

I am a white belt (been training for nearly 2 years now), only been to 1 competition so far, so i dont need anything that special (i just need a quality lightweight product that will last me more than 18 months)..

i guess anything is better than the 1.3lbs PRIDE double weave monstrosity i currently own

so can anyone recommend me some good shops where i can order this from (good price deals) and which GI to choose between the 4 i mentioned above (or if you think something else will be a better fit please do recommend)

    Thanks

    hey bud,
check out one more brand before making a final decision.

    Kingz Kimonos
    http://www.fightersmarket.com/Kingz-Kimonos-s/214.htm

i just got a ripstop 420 v2, and it's bad-to-the-bone. they have the "L" sizes, which is probably what you're gonna look for...long arms?

they have a nice blue, and also a navy...i highly recommend them, they are well under your price range, and the quality of my gi rivals that of my gameness and shoyoroll's.

as a bonus, their customer service seems to be top notch.

that's a bad ass gi, and going by your stats i would recommend the A3L

    " 6' 1" - 6'3"; 180 - 205 lbs.; A3L"

I believe the comp 450 will shrink a little if desired...if i was you, i would wash in cold and hang dry. try it on and see how it fits. if you would like to bring the torso/sleeves in a bit, then wash on cold once more, but throw it in the dryer on low heat and check every 15 minutes until it's good.

i always use very little soap on the first wash, and run it through the rinse cycle at least twice to get all the soap and industry chemicals out of the fabric. i do this with all kimonos...
