Media Volkonovski's Only Professional Loss

Darn Struve picking on FWs over here.

Nobody tosses a FW champ.

And the loss to Holloway.

AJ McKee would take Volk's head off in the 1st

They look 2-3 weight classes apart.

It's insane. Mad respect to Volk. He would have been well used to fighting bigger blokes playing rugby leauge through the grades. It's a brutal sport.

So he needed a guy 3 weight classes higher to deliver 4 knees to the head and an uppercut to drop him. Scary.

AJ McKee > Campos > Guillard > Tibau > RDA > Magny > Jiangliang > Zafir > Corey Nelson > Alex Volkanovski

AJ McKee wins by mma math

looked like an early stoppage too

Volk just has that winning aura about him.
Positive attitude, insane work ethic, IQ, perspective, heart and toughness.
This was not a bad loss either. Guy was legit bigger than him.

Corey Nelson was a top Australian Welterweight at the time. He never made it to the UFC for various reasons but was a UFC-Calibre talent.

The fact Volk, at 5'6 fought him is pretty crazy.

Volk is the pinnacle of modern mixed martial arts. He has 0 weaknesses and City Kickboxing has revolutionized MMA striking by focusing so much on feinting while it is all but obsolete in MMA. New Zealand/AU lack the wrestling of the US and Dagestan, lacks the BJJ of Brazil, lacks the boxing of Mexico and the UK/Ireland, but they still managed to find a cheat code. That old Wanderlei and Shogun style was 'I hit you and you hit me", and you can see it coming from a mile away, but via focusing on feinting they have opened up so many options.

He is like a faster twitch Jon Fitch that can strike.
