Should they have a rematch at 155? Oliveira is highly unlikely to fight in October so this rematch might be a good idea for October.

Is there a definitive timeline on Volk's surgery and recovery. Heard 6-8 weeks recovery time I think from his head coach, if that's the case it's not feasible.
He won so of course you have to give him props, it's not like Volk came in at 145 or something but equally Islam won the fight for me by winning the 4th with position, it was that razor close, so there's credit to go around. Are people going to give credit to Islam if he beats Volk again? Seems like Islam was such a big favorite last fight and that many expected a dominant win. But since it was a close fight, Alex was still #1 P4P and many justified that even though it was marketed as “LW title on the line, #1P4P on the line”. Unless, Islam finished Alex in the 1st fight, it was a lose-lose situation for Islam. If he got a close win, you would get the “Alex was going up in weight” or “Islam was way the bigger guy”. If Islam lost, you’d get the “he was never that good”.
So if Islam gets another close win, and are we going to hear the same narratives?
Agreed though depending on Aljo I might say one more defense at FW after he picks apart Topuria. Imo 2 more defenses and Volk's above Aldo and Aljo should he win and get by Sean would be a good name to add to Volk's resume before he chases that Islam rematch.Especially since it's been a week and I think he still hasn't had the surgery. I don't even know if he's back in australia yet. Volk should aim for a december return against topuria, then think about the LW belt after that.
Yep. The truth is that Volk was probably 170 lbs for that fight and only weighed slightly less than Islam. People like to pretend he didn’t cut any weight or something. Are people going to give credit to Islam if he beats Volk again? The vast majority of people scoring the fight thought Islam won. And the judges agreed. If Volk wants another shot at 155 then he should have to fight another contender, and let Islam fight another one in his weight class as well. If they both win, match them back up for a second fight.
