that's my instructor Christiano up on the Premier website, didn't know he was teaching w/ them as well

Shaolin has great grappling. Defintily worth training with, did not know he was here in the states though.

Yeah, I was there as a drop in. I train with Soca in Long Island and Shaolin is my friend. I knew about his move to NYC before it even happened. I was very happy to see him doing well. I wish him great things! He deserves it. It was such a cool seminar! If I lived in NYC I would train with him hands down.

wow i was walking right by there today and never knew this before today.

Is there anyone here actually taking classes at Vitor's academy? I want to begin BJJ training soon and Vitor's school seems like a good option.

Yeah, SHAOLIN is a great instructor and a really good friend of mine. I used to train with him @ Nova Uniao, with Andre Pederneiras when I lived in Rio ( our hometown)
He's doing a BJJ CAMP with us ( 40 Degrees BJJ CAMPS) here in San Diego ( From 09-13th) and NYC from 16-20th of JANUARY.
It will be 5 days of pure and good jiujitsu! I'm getting a lot of e-mails about this CAMP. All I can say, his techniques are INSANE !!

how has This gone under the radar! Shaolin teaches in nyc and it seems no one even notices.

Definitely recommended. Right now would be the best time to start training there. His class size, while picking up, is still small enough that he can give you pretty good individual attention. He is really technical in the moves he teaches, and attentive in watching his students drill and roll. In addition, he does make training hard and is good at pushing you to keep going.

Who teaches his class when he's off fighting around the world? Plus how much does it cost to train? You would think the internet would be non stop with info that he opened up a school in NYC

this is really interesting. I think he teaches at modern martial arts now. Im from NJ but I would def. check it out during the summer. I might also check a gym over here in jersey, ironically also called modern martial arts, that teaches CSW grappling, judo, catch as can wrestling, wrestling, and aikido. Im leaning towards Vitor's gym tho.
