I didnt come on these forums until last year so idk what alot of people talked about before but Ok you bring up the first anderson and chael fight if his levels were that high why didnt they just ban it then or prohibit him from using it ever again since he had taken advantage of using it instead he was allowed to use it again in a rematch with anderson until they completly banned it this year.
Why has it taken them years to ban it when until Vitor will fight for a championship against weidman even though he did steroids in the past there wasn't proof he misused trt like Sonnen did but he gets more hate for it cause he's Brazilian.
It takes years for any government entity to do anything. That's both good and bad in this case as, on one hand, the government tends to drag its feet and rarely accomplish anything. On the other, though, in a matter dealing with health and medical treatment, snap judgments probably shouldn't be made. Further, although it didn't get as much attention, California effectively banned the use of TRT a year ago.
Also, Vitor doesn't get more hate for TRT because he's Brazilian, he doesn't "get more hate" overall at all. He's getting more hate
right now because he's relevant and in the title picture, and Sonnen isn't. Sonnen was getting just as much hate at the time of the two Silva fights as Vitor gets now.
Finally, this wasn't an "all of a sudden" thing like the Vitor defenders/apologists try to make it seem. When Sonnen popped after the first Silva fight, that was the introduction of many, if not most MMA fans, to the use of TRT in the sport. And he got a ton of shit. From there, it seemed like a snowball effect where every other week some new fighter was on TRT. There was Hendo and Mir and Forrest and Rampage. There was Todd Duffy looking like a super hero and somehow needing TRT in his mid-20s. Then there was Nate Marquardt needing TRT, and then getting fired when his skewed test results screwed up a main event, and then saying he was going off of TRT. There has been a ton of controversy over the use of TRT for the last four years, with people coming down on both sides. There has also been increased media attention on the use of TRT over the past few years. Dana White came out more than two years ago and said he wanted TRT banned. As I mentioned above, California effectively banned TRT "until further notice" last year.
So to say everything was peachy with TRT until Vitor was going to challenge a white champion is complete crap.
