Its very tough to say since we've not seen recent Vitor take on a controlling wrestler, if he shrugs off Sonnens wrestling and destroys him without breaking mentally then that obviously would strengthen his case.

I do think theres a good case that todays Vitor may have beaten Chuck though, there match back then was already much closer than most of Vitor's LHW defeats.

Vitor has not gotten better he has just fought fighters who either don't want to grapple or will not pressure him.

Hendo was trying to take his block off in the rematch. In the first fight he took him down instantly and BROKE him, just like so many have before.

Vitor will never be real UFC championship material. (for you Foxnoobs, he has only won a early UFC tournament (big deal) and "beat" Randy when his glove seam cut his eye. He lost the rematch like he should have had).

Randy knew how to beat him and always would, that one eye injury freak accident aside.

IMO Couture was just a bad style match up for Vitor Belfort. He was always a step ahead of Vitor.
