Law Virginia governor declares state of emergency to ban legal gun carrying. People could die here.

They are going to try and paint all issues involving white people with this brush. It's like calling a every rally of black people a bunch of gang-bangers.

State law does, as does the prohibition of the governor to use this authority in this way.

Can you admit the governor is breaking the law here?

No I can't. Can you provide evidence that he is other than your opinion?

Should have spent that money on an increase in ER staff. Guessing we will see more deaths, and injuries than arrests.

You can see this disaster coming from 10 miles away.

These people are not going to disarm.

Clutch your pearls harder, bro.

The neo nasi group is "the base" (which translates to "al Qaeda" fyi) a very troubling group of folks.

They also arrested our missing Canadian armed forces member with them. He was being investigated by our armed forces (for nazi stuff) when he ran for the US border and was helped by The Base.

These guys are dangerous loons and I suspect that the fear of an extremist attack was quite credible.

Edit - a little background on our missing Can-nazi - https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/mani...rvist-neo-nazi-group-army-reservist-1.5429218

This protest/rally a response to the Govenor trying to infringe on rights and ban guns...

As pointed out here

And here

"Emergency services and disasters; constitutional rights. Provides that nothing in the Emergency Services and Disaster Law shall be interpreted to limit or prohibit the otherwise lawful possession, carrying, transportation, sale, or transfer of firearms."

The people have the right under Virginia law to do exactly what is being restricted and what you are stating isn't an infringement.

It's gun owners upset that Virginia's government is now fully controlled by dems. They have not and cannot infringe on constitutional rights. They can however through proper channels change state law. The part of your post in bold says "Constitutional rights", not state law. Open carry is not a constitutional right.

Saying "They're not coming to peacefully protest. They are coming to intimidate and cause harm," is about as onesided as you can get.

When a citizen says stuff like this they're a presumptuous piece of shit. When a Governor says and acts upon something like this, it's enacted fascism.

Right on! Politicians should only be able to cast paranoid aspersions on groups of Muslims. Or groups of undocumented Mexicans.

This is an outrage!!

Yeah. This is bigotry based on race. Not concern over the firearms.
They'll eventually make it that to get the guns away from us and secure their power. That's what governments do.

There is nothing in the constitution that guarantees open carry or the right to carry anywhere you want. It only guarantees you the right to own a firearm.

umm... no. keep and BEAR arms.

hurr durr.

...please stop pretending to talk about law.

What’s the legal status with the second amendment here

What of they aren't mutually exclusive, and idiots like this governor are why.....
They might not be mutually exclusive in the abstract, but in any particular case they certainly are.

It's like Shrodinger's AK-47.

So, which is it?

Does this constitute tyranny, in which case you bring your gun;

Or do you not bring your gun, in which case this doesn't constitute tyranny?

BTW, 64% of Americans support stricter gun laws, broadly speaking, while only 7% of people want less strict gun laws.

Where are the calls for him to step down? Wasn't he deemed a racist in the autumn?

The blackface concerns me a lot less than the baby killing stuff. This guy literally endorsed killing babies outside of the womb.

Just because it isn't permanent?

That's a wierd line of thought to me.

Not only because it's temporary, but also because it's confined to one location. It'd be like if the President put a moratorium on oil drilling at one oil site and then someone posted "POTUS signs executive order banning oil drilling". Or giving special health insurance to 9/11 first responders that the first responsers don't have to individually pay for and posting a thread title "Trump signs law giving Americans free healthcare." etc

They are working on a legal court order to stop him. Let’s see if they can find a judge to do it. I’m sure there is one in the state that would like to stop this shit head.

I think part of the reason people are losing it over this is cause of what led up to it.

he talked about confiscation

stated at one point he’d have people go door to door to do it

budgeted more money to incarcerate more people cause of the plan

tried to deny it

then asked for a separate law enforcement group of 18 people to conduct the confiscations

Can't take guns into the Capital, surround the Capital with guns.
