Romulo Barral and Samuel Braga have a nice slow technical roll while we were all hanging out after class on the day of Draculino's fight for strikeforce.

Romulo is still injured and doing rehab and I was joking with him early in the day before class when I saw his gi. I was like "hmmmm why'd you bring that..you can't roll" and he started smiling....I was like.. " I already know..I rolled a week after my meniscus surgery".

It isn't an intense match, just mostly smooth transitions in an out submissions and positions but its was really cool to watch them work.

That video makes me very weary about training after my upcoming meniscus surgery...

    Meniscus surgery is different.

Here is me ONE week after meniscus surgery. I asked my partners if they minded me just working on my back (so I didn't have to bend my knee and put weight on in while sitting in someones guard) I worked exclusively on my closed guard and man..it really REALLY improved alot.

Good thing I love to work off my back. Really looked like you were favoring that knee though, but that's just me worrying.

    this is good training.

it is like chess, let one guy make the move and just counter and make your move.

like chess. it helps you seeing opening and try stuff that in normal rolling you would not attempt because of the speed and the losing factor.

great to see top gun BBs do it once in a while.

Romulo always trains no matter what. I remember he got hurt before ADCC then even more so after the Flavio match. 2 weeks after he trained insanely hard at GB American against everyone with basically one leg.

Yeah, he told me about a story when he hurt his right hand and trained with just his left hand exclusively and got so good that he was dominating other black belts so bad with one hand..that a high ranking instructor like Carlos Gracie or someone, i forget who..said that he should fight at the tournament that way because he got so good at it or something lol.
