Video of Rickson's son, Kron, at the United Gracie Tourney 2006. He won the PanAm games last year (I think, or 2004) and is an amazing BJJ fighter. No rumors or comments on whether he'll make the switch to MMA as he gets older.

not really what I had expected. The rumors of him being such a phenom didn't really hold that well throughout that ten minute snooze fest.
 
There's some better matches from his Pan Am tourney... but obviously you've never been to a JJ tournament. The technique is what's important and Kron's very good techniqually.

Maybe not the most fun video to watch but much like some of Fedor or Rickson's early sambo matches, it's not all swinging for the fence and trying to knock the guys head off.

Notice there was no drunk fans boooing and telling him to knock him out.

LOL, dang. I haven't thought about that movie in freakin' years. I think I'll go watch it again. ...along with the Last Starfighter and Tron.

The other guy was very good. You said that was boring? Do you even train in JJ?
 
Rickson said if his son fights mma he would not like him to train in stand up (strikes) lol he would get killed aginst a skilled fighter look at the rest of the gracies:

I got two I'm just messing around with but I'm think one of them is going to capture me pretty soon. So I haven't really started yet... busy at work and waiting for the inspiration to hit me.

And there's no way I'd give it away yet. It won't be a funny one, I'll tell you that much.

I actually heard something about that in an interview but I don't think he said he didn't want him to train stand up! I'll look for it. Probably on bjj.org somewhere.

He said it in Fighters only mag in the U.K he said strikers against good BJJ guys is not effective but with good BJJ means u will be able to nutralise any strike lol i know
 
^^From what Ive seen, Kron has a shitty attitude. I was at the American National in Sept 2005 and he lost his first fight cuz he couldnt pass the guys guard...so the ref gave it to the other guy..so Kron pushed the ref and later on, threw a bottle at the ref WHILE HE WAS REFFING ANOTHER FIGHT.

Kron is a very strong purple belt -- he has attitude, no doubt. That said, he destroys most of the guys at Rickson's school (including me) with relative ease.

Hey, the guy lives BJJ. What can one expect?

I've never heard him or Rickson discuss Kron doing MMA. Don't know where that Rickson quote above came from. Seems like a bad rumor that he wouldn't want Kron to know striking.

Pretty much. I'm more interested in watching Carlinhos' kid and his future in BJJ.
