I'm curious, why didn't Poirier took the fight when he thinks Parke's a bum? That will be a easy win for him if he thinks that way.

Bc it's not an easy win. Park is a technically sound fighter who can grind you down. He is good everywhere. Poirer has a lot to lose in that fight and if he wins, he probably feels like he doesn't have as much to gain. Calling him a bum is a gesture to dismiss this as a possibility - it is a business move.

Terrible "business" decision by Poirier.
1. The UFC would have liked him to step up but he doesn't = Not earning any goodwill from them.
2. He gets paid to fight, so if it is an easy fight, he should take it and make money + add to his winning streak.

Yes but not necessarily a good business move. The UFC will cut him after 2 losses and he wont fight again anytime soon. He is scared of losing but he should have risked it imo...already prepared for a fight and would gain goodwill with dana. And he will not get paid until he fights sometime next year.

I think it's pretty clear Dustin has been paid his show money, not taking a replacement fight is a very disappointing decision from a fans point of view and it may come back to haunt him, as much as Dana told him their was no pressure for him to take the fight, it will not be forgotten by the UFC top brass or the fans.

But ultimately it shows he is not a very confident fighter, and does not bode well for ever reaching the top of the pile.
