Conor McGregor don't want to fight Nate Diaz in a rematch fight at UFC 200? This was first reported on twitter by an friend of Nate Diaz. You guys believe this or is this just a rumor to hurt McGregor's image? Dana White said its a lie..but i think that we all would agree that Dana White is well known for not always telling the truth.

 
A rematch makes no sense anyway right now. He needs to defend his belt against Edgar or Aldo.
 
Completely agree. Ruin his star power should he lose that again, and it's not an easy match. He'll need to take time to acclimate his body to the higher weight classes once he moves up

I dont think Dana will let him Rematch Nate...unless he loses once more...then you will see the rematch...just because there is money to be made there
 
He had his flirting with a higher weight class fight. Now he's got to defend his title. A rematch with Diaz can happen much later.

As if we don't get a rematch for every title fight nowadays. Fuck having rematches for regular bouts.
 
Smart move. Losing twice to the same man consecutively can't be the solution. Fight Frankie or Aldo and try to secure a win and rally back, no?
 
Maybe the fight would sell tickets again, but it doesn't really make sense for anyone. Conor needs to get back to FW and defend his belt. Fighting a full-camp Nate (after losing to short-notice Nate) sounds like a losing proposition anyway. And since he just beat Conor, what does beating a FW a second time do for Nate?
 
Doubt he or any MMA fighter with a real competitive mindset turns down a rematch like that.
 
i dont think conor would turn it down. but who knows. it's a retarded rematch anyways. conor lost convincingly and he needs to defend his belt.

i actually think he could win the rematch with some adjustments.

Does he really? At FW he's the biggest weight cutter in the sport. Dude walks around the same weight as many LW's. He's as heavy as Ben Henderson when fighting at FW. The cut is killing his body. He should be fighting at LW.
 
I would think it's total bullshit as in, UFC did not offer Conor Nate.

Now could I see Nate Diaz telling the UFC to set up a rematch between him and Conor at 200, and the UFC saying no? Yes I could totally see that, I could also just seem them saying no he (Conor) doesn't want it.

But truth is they would not set him up against Conor just off that loss, I think they want him to get a few more wins, make sure people are still excited to see Conor fight, then have him rematch Diaz.

You mean Nate beat a WW. It has to go both ways right?
 
Fucken hell no - It was a 2nd round finish. Mcgregor needs to defend his belt at 45 - he can't hold up that divison just to try and set his record straight
 
No way there's an immediate rematch, if Conor loses again (most likely scenario) then his star power fades dramatically. Right now Conor still has a lot of fans, but 2 losses in a row & you will see his fanbase dramatically reduced. Fans love winners, part of his appeal was he seemed invincible (at FW at least). UFC would be killing their cash cow for a short term gain
 
I also think that Conor McGregor should not take the rematch with Nate Diaz. Weight makes a difference..and he should stay in his weightclass. Look what Nate Diaz did with Conor McGregor and now imagine what a beast like Robbie Lawler or Condit will do with him....
