I believe TRT, if it’s medically founded, I’m not here to sit there and tell someone they can or cannot do something. I think it falls under the same jurisdiction as a bronchial inhaler. If a guy has asthma – now if I were to take a bronchial inhaler, I don’t have asthma, could it help out my conditioning? Probably, from what I understand. But if you need it and you have asthma, you’re allowed to take that, right? Sounds like it falls under the same thing. It’s either all across the board we need to eliminate everything, or realize that if we’re gonna allow medical exemptions, they’re there.

last sentence said it all; where to draw the line for medical exemptions. few think none, and few think there should be no rules at all (e.g. allow all PEDs). most of the rest of us fall somewhere on the spectrum in between those 2 extremes.

from what i understand, the Olympic Medical Exemptions are about 1000x more difficult to get than NSAC exemptions. that makes me skeptical. period.

i think that if he was 20 starting out he would have a different opinion.

but since he is at the age that he is going to have to start taking it as well, well, he has this opinion.

It's totally legit. I mean guys who could be on the cover of bodybuilding magazines clearly have low testosterone. Funny how guys like Marquardt and Duffee don't even need it anymore. TRT must have cured them.

The problem is that the guys taking TRT in the UFC are not necessarily doing it because they have a medical condition.

They are doing it to gain an advantage.

Either that or there is a low testosterone epidemic breaking out.

Good so he agrees that if you are a Medical Marijuana Patient it should be exempt too!

My thoughts exactly!

Preach it Frank.

The entire system of how sports treats PEDs, TRT,steroids etc needs to be redone from the ground up.

It's far too out of date atm.

i heard there's a mosquito in Gresham that sucks your blood and then lowers your T. it's only in Gresham. that must be it....

Or ... or ... or ... Maybe those 10+ years of life, experience and wisdom are why he has this opinion

Doesn't explain how professional fighters who walk around at 200+ lbs of muscle like Dan, Mir and Sonnen were ever able to compete professionally, let alone get to the size they are if they had a testosterone deficiency in the first place.

it's quite possible that's around the corner. not sure if that's a small (3 year) or big (40 year) corner, but quite possible.

meanwhile, Armstrong is apologizing to his staff, baseball is implementing HGH testing, and football is trying to rework their deal with the Players Union about disclosure, so we (and by "we" i mean society) are not quite there yet.

Well said..did i just agree with Mir? man that was strange.

I think that people just think Mir's opinion less because he is Frank Mir and most of Sherdog hate him.

I think what's well said is still well said regardless of who said it - and Frank Mir is right on this one.

TRT is mostly offered to athletes in theyr 30's or reaching theyr 30's

you know what happens after 30, you get old.

getting old is a way of life man , its natural.

stopping the adage of Youth vs Experience is not natural.

cause now the experienced are also youthful.

how is that fair to the younger fighters coming into the sport.

stopping the natural progression of life with chemicals is not ... natural.
