Scheduled to face Ilia Topuria in the main event of UFC 317, Charles Oliveira arrived in Las Vegas last Saturday, as always, followed by many members of Chute Boxe team.

On Sunday, “Do Bronx” welcomed Brazilian reporter Diego Ribas from Ag.Fight to the 10-room mansion he rented with the help of his sponsor, Roobet.

"I like to have my whole team in the same vibe. Nobody came here to party, almost everybody here is in camp or coming from fights and wanted to be here with me sharing that positive energy and supporting me,” Oliveira said.

Among those seen eating in the kitchen during the tour were Norma Dumont, Marco Tulio, Allan Nascimento, Daniel Santos and trainer Diego Lima.

Oliveira recalled some hard moments he passed through in his early UFC fights.

"People thought that for being in UFC I was wealthy, but actually I didnt have money to buy special clothes to lose weight,” he said. “Being able to come here in such a great structure supported by my whole team, with six cars outside, in something I just can thank God for all he has done for to me.”

This will be the first time Oliveira gets the opportunity to headline an International Fight Week card.

"I feel at home in Vegas,” he said.

That's the way to do it.

I tend to prefer doing AirBnB type accommodations instead of hotels... hotels are often STUPID expensive and I have found (especially if planned ahead or if in a group) you can usually find MUCH nicer accommodations by renting a house.

Get a group of people and take the 200-300ish per night each (or each couple/family) which is fairly common for hotels in the US and pool that money and you can get a pimp ass house. I have stayed in places right by the ocean which had bikes and kayaks included and done it for less money than a hotel.

Lots of perks and upside too. You get a kitchen so you can save a fortune on food and still eat well as long as you can cook (comes in extra handy if you have any special dietary needs, my wife has food allergies... works great for us) we have brought our dogs before... kids get their own room or bunks.

Charles I am sure is traveling with a team, so if you have 10 or so people it is almost guaranteed to be a better deal than buying 5-10 hotel rooms. And just more memorable than a hotel which is going to be indistinguishable from many other similar experiences that will all blend together

Good points on airbnb/short-term rentals over hotels, and I generally agree, but with one big caveat: If you're hitting up a one-night sporting event or concert, an under $50 seedy hotel can really hit the spot ( . . . erhem. . . depending on the location/city). That being said, there are also shite airbnbs for cheap.

there are people who are violently opposed to airBnB, they say it drives the prices way up for the local community. agreed on the crazy hotel prices but it seems to be two evils and which one is the lesser. personally i say stay home and boycott the shit out of everyone until the prices all come down. general strike, baby, don't participate, not until they start making sense.

must be nice to have sponsors. i need more sponsors in my life.
Yeah my sponsor never does anything like this. He just tells me to call him, not drink and read a big blue book.

Looks like something that the average sherdogger forgot they even owned. Its hard to keep up sometimes when you have 45+ properties owned. The struggle we all go through remembering

Works his ass off day in day out for years, gets beat up, submitted, knocked out, cuts weight again and again and again only to go to battle once again…

And thanks God for making all that possible.

<mma4>

I’d say you’ve earned it. Good man. Hope he comes out on top on saturday night!
