His footwork's lookin good. I'm hopin for a Cotto victory but I think Mayorga's gonna have his moments in the earlier rounds.

Thanks for the video. This is gonna sound bad but I had to mute it lol.

When he moves towards his right hand, his first step is with the left foot. For a moment, his heels are crossed. This is one of the things that allowed Pac to jump on him. For that moment, it's difficult to pivot, impossible to counter with power, the only answer is to pull back. But then with a guy like Pac you get attacked all over again.

I actually think Steward's footwork is better than Cotto's from what I see. But it appears Manny's at least working on where his body is when he's punching, which is needed.

Cotto looks good. It's going to be a good fight but I think Cotto walks away winner.

He's ALWAYS been slow, I don't think he looks any slower here than at any other point.

You're right, I meant to say that Cotto's lookin more mobile.
In his earlier fights he tended to be sluggish. Nowadays, his mobility seems to have improved a bit.

Look's a little slow.

let's see how he fares fight night.

meh, it's just an open workout so it's not really Cotto going 100%.
In fact, I can't recall ever seeing a Cotto workout where he exhibited speed. He always seems to be lax when he hits the pads.

He moved well when forced to. He beat Abdullaev going in reverse. But against someone either with foot speed, and power, or relentless pressure, that crossing thing is going to be a huge liability.

He never had the lungs to stay far ahead for the full 12.

He wasn't slow.

Against Margarito he threw some pretty quick combinations. He matched speed with Mosley aswell.

A few moments of relatively quick combinations don't equate to speed. Cotto's never been remarkably fast. His hand-speed is moderate at best, and his foot speed is sub-par.

It's for these reasons that he's always had trouble with speedsters. From Corley, to Malignaggi, to Pac.
