Just over a year ago I was drinking with Victor and his girl in LA. He was deliriously drunk. Why would you do that in public if you've decided to be a professional boxer? Is it because he hasn't gotten over the Mayweather debacle? Anyways, he was a very cool and gracious dude, very hospitable. That being said, he needs to put the bottle down and get serious. A complete change in friends, lifestyle and coaching team.

I think that he could've won that fight against Floyd had he decided not to headbutt him like an immature silly kid in the playground.

Ortiz was never beating Floyd. He knew it too, hence the headbutt.

Yeah, agree there was no way Ortiz was beating Mayweather but he was a pretty hot prospect once upon a time.

dude's a headcase. Talented fighter, but a headcase

I'll never forget that "Face of with Max Kellerman" when Floyd kept saying, "you make a mistake, you're gonna pay, you make a mistake you're gonna pay".
He did, and he paid for it.

The way Floyd was right hand leading that dude right off the bat, it looked like a possible stoppage would've actually come anyways.

I don't know. Part of me thinks Floyd was on his way to stopping him, but Ortiz was walking through everything Floyd landed. A lopsided UD was 1000% likely, though.

I think the cumulative effect of eating that "snap" would've slowed the kid down by the 6th. Think about it, it was target practice anytime they had space, right from the jump. 6 rounds of no defense against Floyd would've made some changes to his chin. I think stoppage by the 8th or 9th. Let's not forget he would've been timed by the 4th and getting smacked everytime he extended his arms by then, too. Ortiz knew very early he'd have to try to "rough it up a bit" to have a chance. Hence the jumping headbut. A little frustration had to do with it too of course.

Imagine between rounds. Uncle Roger, "this mufukas a bum, keep whoopin his ass, run that shit down the middle"..lol

I can agree with this, I suppose.

he wanted to believe in something beyond his existential self, he self medicated with the nectars of man with the notion he could ascend himself through another light, another window to see the true champion in himself. But yet at the same time ironically escaping away from who he truly was. In the end he ended up chasing someone who was never there, and when he came to, his eyes wide open he saw that which was never there.

I didnt know Ortiz was a drinker. Assuming youre being genuine.

I legit thought Ortiz was the next big thing once upon a time. He just appears to lack the mental aspect of the fight game. I mean that with all due respect and not as an insult. Not everyone was made to be a fighter, even with a fighters physical gifts.

"you're" Mr PUO

Ortiz had Mayweather dead to rights.
Floyd knew (as did Ortiz) that the jig was up.
The intensity of the realization was too much for Ortiz to handle. And he went into berserker mode.

I hope he has that or gets that under control. The bottle can wreck a man no matter his profession.
