Elections Veteran threatens to kill himself because of medical debt at a Bernie Sanders stop

His insurance laps and has over 100,000 in debt and has huntington's disease and says to Bernie I am going to kill myself you don't understand you don't. People created a go-fund-me to help raise money but there are people including vets. who problems don't get heard will end their lives because their lives are ruined by a defective system.

That guy is a campaign wet dream for good ole Bernie. So I’m suspect.

That said, I hope he gets the help he needs. And it’s awful that Americans go bankrupt bc they get unlucky with an illness. That MUST change.

Also, doesn’t the VA cover vets medical issues?

It's not that easy VA can opt out of providing medical care depending on the situation VA's have been know to decide against providing medical care in situation when the person served and their status.

American exceptionalism at work here-- the only first world country where this can happen AND the richest country in the world. This vet needs to pull himself up by his bootstraps work 3 jobs and be grateful there are so many billionaires being produced these days.

I see the problem but don’t like the recommended solution , the government run your healthcare ? Eh

Even thing I’m a right leaning person I see the Democrats point here and have a problem with how Republicans laid a big egg when they said repeal and replace. The solution should be a bi-partisan effort. We have a lot of homeless vets that need real care and politicians are promising to give health care to illegals or other politicians don’t have a solution.

No we can just be like Canada or any of these other countries we are too different and it’s not like we are a new country. I think I liked what Yang said about healthcare I got to go dig up his plan again, maybe I’m thinking wrong

This boils my blood. People with expensive healthcare needs already have it the worst in society by virtue of the conditions themselves. Then the government compounds their misery by leaving healthcare financing to the market.
