VERY STRONG Kimura Variation From Top by Jason Scully

One of my coaches as a white belt was all about this, but I could never get it to work.

Modeling yourself after the status quo is a sure path to mediocrity.

I bet someone told Palhares at some point in his BJJ/MMA career that heel hooks were low percentage.

You have to play your own game.

There seems to be some confusion as to what "low percentage" means here. It means moves that overall are finished a low percentage of the time.

Just because Palhares has a high finish percentage with leglocks doesn't mean they're not a low-percentage move in MMA. For the vast majority of fighters, their time will be better spent drilling back-takes and RNCs than practicing dropping to their back to get a heel-hook.

I finally got a chance to try this in live rolling. Both times the guy tapped (2 different guys) but it was because of my bony wrist on his forearm. I just could not break the grip on the gi. When I applied the pressure I thought I needed to separate his hand from gi he just rotated his whole body in the direction I was taking him. Any thoughts on fixing this?
