Vernon Forrest gets another easy fight on Showtime as he faces the Latin Snake, Sergio Mora. Winner of the first "Contender" Mora has been very inconsistent and almost lost to Elvan Alaya last year. The better fight is Showtime's first bout the rematch between the Punisher Paul Williams against Carlos Quintana. In the first fight Paul didn't seem to be his aggressive self, but maybe it was the crafty Quintana forcing him off his game. Win or lose, look for Williams to move up to 154 after this fight, Showtime goes live at 9, enjoy.

I posted this in your Pavlik thread. Sorry.
Anyway, looking forward to some entertaining fights tonight.
Gotta love that DVR!

Enjoy!

after watching the first fight with some friends, Quintana won a bunch of new fans. It should be another damn good fight.

I was wondering WTF was going on in this forum, no talk of Forrest, Williams, Quintana or..... Kelly Pavlik until the day of the fight?

Dang. This is a really solid weekend for boxing.

I'm thinking Williams should have taken a few fights off in between, but we'll see how it turns out.

I'm also thinking that Sergio Mora's promoter doesn't like him very much.

I'm still not sold on Forrest. He needs to fight Mayorga after he beats Mora to exorcise the demon.

probably because Forrest and Pavlik have gimme fights. However, Quintana and Williams should be great.

I actually think Williams will beat Quintana fairly handedly this time around.

I agree...but that's what we all thought the first time around. There has to be a reason why he won the first fight. I'd be interested in seeing what the winning percentages were for fighters who win the first fight and are the underdog leading up to the second.

Paul Williams was 165 pounds the night of the first fight. Hopefully, he comes in in better shape tonight and didnt have to cut so much weight.

I think I'm still kicking myself for picking Cintron in his last fight.

Ha, I kinda thought Cintron might pull it off too.

Williams will throw more punches this time around. He'll outpoint Quintana. Forrest will beat Mora. Simply cause Mora is from The Contender. The Viper can't lose to one of those guys.

Somebody keep me updated, as I'll be here at work.

Why the dubs, man?

And we're to live action on Showtime!

Has Mora been knocked down yet? Just kidding......
