Aside from Lima, who he is 1-1 against, has MVP beaten anyone of note? Paul Daley was already pretty old when they fought.

Is he a glorified can crusher? Or would he do well in the UFC's welterweight division?

Yes. If you go to the forum where they talk about non-UFC fighters, it's been discussed for years. Often with frustration.

Just follow this thread in the next hour. I will lead you to that forum, I'm sure ;)

And just to save the thread:

Yeah he’s pretty much a can crusher I’d say he has 1 top tier win and 3 wins against solid competition

I think he be a middle of the pack contender in the ufc but we've harshly judged fighters who came from other orgs before to the ufc only to overachieve above peoples expectations.

he would get bored to death in the UFC, no one would stand with him

Like who? We've generally been pretty good at scouting who among the B Leagues would do well, and who wouldn't. Guys like Eddie, Chandler, Justin, Gilbert, the WEC crew, Rockhold, Jacare, DC, etc., were all noticed in the B Leagues as people who should be in the UFC (or its champions), and that was mostly correct.

The biggest flop was probably Hector Lombard, and IMO everybody was being delusional in thinking someone that short with that short of a reach could beat Silva (or most other MWs).

He's obviously a very skilled fighter. Yeah his competition isn't great, but just because you're a can crusher doesn't make you a shit fighter.

He'd do fine the UFC. He wouldn't be top 5 or compete for the title but he'd do fine against the average 170 UFC fighter.

He wouldn't have any long win streaks though. There's not enough cans in the UFC for that.

He's getting wrestlef*cked by a no name tonight so I guess in the UFC it would be hard for him to get into top 10. His striking is beautiful though.

MVP couldn't crack the top ten. Might even struggle with the top fifteen.

Biggest flop ain't Lombard. He at least got some decent enough wins in the UFC.

Biggest flop from the b-leagues is absolutely Will Brooks. Had a boring dec win against Ross Pearson then got finished by everyone else.

MVP could maybe scrape together a solid win streak with the right matchmaking
He has Carlos Condit level take down defense if tonight is anything to go by though. So he'd get mashed by the top guys who can all wrestle.
