So, I ordered a couple of cheap guitars from a huge chain in Germany. After watching many demos from the US of these guitars on Youtube, many have done it here. I wound up paying something like $70 in shipping charges in total and the total, with shipping was about $300 for two guitars. (Like I said, they are cheap guitars, but sound pretty good.)

I missed the shipment yesterday and there was a note in my mailbox that they can't deliver because I owe like $215. WTF??? No, I paid for shipping. Also, everyone on Youtube mentions the shipping cost if you buy from them because it's more than most places, obviously, but no one has mentioned paying more to the USPS.

I've never heard of this. Have any of you had this happen? I'm still waiting from them to redeliver today to ask them what's up. I'm not paying that though... it's almost as much as the whole cost.

Given your water issues and now this, combined with your high-ticket hobbies -- I assume you're living on some kind of an island in which case you need to swim for it, my dude.

The sender didn't put on sufficient postage.

If they messed up, why do I have to pay? I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. But, $280 is totally ridiculous for shipping anyhow.

Happens sometimes here in Canada too with international parcels. If you aren't home for the initial delivery and have to pick it up from a post office/depot they try tacking on some bs customs charge.

Well, I'm not paying $215.

Out of the seller vs. you, you're the one who wants the shit that's why. International shipping is way more expensive than domestic. Who is supposed to incur the cost to ship the shit back to seller?

Customs and shit. One time ups delivered I asked about Customs or anything as I expected to have to pay. The delivery guy said no, later got a bill for like $30. Never paid it. Never had issues with other ups deliveries.

Not me.

I wouldn't either, if you kick up enough of a stink here Canada Post will just hand over the package to get rid of you. Not sure about the USPS as they may be a bit more extreme than us laid back Canucks.

I dont think he mentioned he didnt want the shipment, he just missed the delivery. Now USPS wants more money for it to be shipped.

Or are the guitars back in Germany ts? If it is near you why dont you go pick it up at USPS?

No, they're around here. I requested redelivery to see what happens first though. Suppose to come today, but nothing so far and I'm leaving for dinner in a few minutes.

What are you going to prey on?

My multi millionaire uncle has recently died and I will be the one who he has given his inheritance to. I can help you out. Send me the $215 and once my inheritance money comes through in less than 2 weeks I will be sending you $1 million. Right now I need $200 to cover the costs of paperwork and $15 for transprotation costs. Once the paperwork is finished I will inherit over $20 million and will like to help you out so you can inspire and help out others like yourself.

I had a FedEx package missed and shipped back to seller before I even had a chance to pick it up. No phone call, and the post-it note was suspiciously dated. Talking maybe less than a week after attempted delivery. They really don't give a fuck.

It's not FedEx. It's the USPS.

Did you use paypal. Can't you get your money back by telling the guy he didnt advertise his shipping costs correctly.

The sender didn't put on sufficient postage.

If that was the case it would have never made it to the receiver, it would be sent back to the shipper. Unless a package is shipped COD the shipper is responsible for postage.
