i train 3 times a week, muay thai, on a Tues, Wed, and Fri

ive just got the Jaco Guardian shorts/cup system, but as im in the UK we cant just get the guardian shorts on their own, none of the shops sell them and the UK distributor hasnt brought any over, and from emails it doesnt sound like they plan to either

now i probably wont wear it on the Tues, its a beginners class and we dont spar etc so i can probably get away without it, but on a Wed i definitely need to wear it, do you guys religiously wash yours after every use ? or do you think i could get away with hanging it up to air out/dry and then use it again on Fridays, ive even thought about putting some anti fungal powder in there just in case

i do plan to buy another one, but i dont have the cash right now, and i dont think my mum will be pleased at having to do a special wash on a Wed night for my cup

or am i asking to get fungal infections etc by doing this ?....what do you all do with yours ?

also, second question, can i leave the cup in the shorts when i wash them, i was planning to do them on a low heat gentle wash, my thinking was by doing this i dont need to adjust the fit every time i wear them as they will still be set just how i like it

They're already pretty wet after training...rinse and wash them out by hand and hang dry.

Washing them with the cup in might make them stretch out.

This.

Also, just wear it twice without washing... you're a man, right (I'm assuming here)?

If you're that concerned, just give the cup and shorts a quick rinse in the shower or something. Compression shorts will dry quickly.

Do you wear the same underwear for two days straight? Don't be lazy and wash your gear. You don't need your mum to wash them, and you don't need to machine wash them. Hand wash them with warm soapy water.

i wash them with the cup and straps and stretching has NOT occurred.

You might want to try one of those steel muay thai cups. With no fabric, you could probably just wipe off the sweat with a damp rag and be good to go for the next session. Lots cheaper than the JACO, too.
