so we hear about guys like cowboy who are all over the place traveling etc..

how does USADA keep track of them ? and how much time do they have to show their face before a test is considered "failed"..

I have an idea that fighters need to keep their whereabouts updated but what about this hypothetical ?

Say Khabib was back in Dagestan ? And USADA knew he was there. Only problem is Khabib is up on some god for saken mountain where the average joe will not make it.

how does he get tested ? WIll he get a pass from USADA if he says

"I'm on top of ol smokey and it wil take 3 days to get down " ..

will that fly ? is that even possible ? trying to think of loopholes that could be used to delay testing. I would think you could cycle on mount Everest with no issues

He has to tell them he on top of ol pole Smokey and they will test him when he gets back. I believe you Los have 3 times before it's considered a fail.

soon UFC fighters will be hiding in the Caucasian Mountains to avoid USADA. hell Persia had a hard time invading and ruling for thousands of years and Russia is barely doing better.

Impossible to monitor. A fighter could easily say I’m going to place “A” and plans suddenly changed and I’m somewhere else.

A cheating fighter would benefit from having multiple gyms and places to live.

USADA Whereabouts Responsibilities

An important part of USADA’s testing program is the ability to test athletes without any advance notice in an out-of-competition setting. Athletes are subject to testing 365 days a year and do not have “off-seasons” or cutoff periods in which testing does not occur.

How do I know if I’m in the Testing Pool?
Athletes will be notified by USADA if they are part of the USADA Registered Testing Pool and are responsible for directly keeping USADA informed of their whereabouts

What are Whereabouts?
Whereabouts information is information submitted to USADA by an athlete that allows the athlete to be located for out-of-competition testing. It includes where you will be at all times – for regular daily activities such as practice and/or work, as well as trips you will take or events you will attend.

What do I need to submit?
There are 3 types of Whereabouts that each athlete needs to submit to USADA:

  1. Quarterly Whereabouts – part of a USADA Registered Testing Pool are responsible for directly keeping USADA informed of their whereabouts. They ask you for your schedule for the upcoming quarter, to the best of your knowledge. This is for known travel, your daily practice schedule and location, and anything else you know ahead of time will be a part of your schedule. The Quarterly Whereabouts deadlines are:
    • Quarter 1 – December 31
    • Quarter 2 – March 31
    • Quarter 3 – June 30
    • Quarter 4 – September 30
  2. Whereabouts Updates – Throughout the quarter, plans often change or last minute travel comes up. You must submit any changes to USADA as soon as you’re aware of them. This includes a change in practice time or location, an unexpected trip or stay at a friend’s house, or anything else that would cause USADA to not be able to find you unless you tell them where you will now be.
  3. 60-Minute Window – Any athlete who is in the USADA International Testing Pool (ITP) must provide a specific 60-minute time slot every day between 5 a.m. – 11 p.m. that anchors the athlete to a specific location. The athlete chooses the 60-minute time slot to fit their schedule and must be available and accessible for testing at a specific location during the entire 60-minute time slot. Please note that USADA can choose to, and does test athletes outside of the their 60-minute window. You will be directly notified of your inclusion in the international testing pool.
Do I really need to tell USADA when I’m going to visit my grandma?
If USADA shows up at a location on your Quarterly Whereabouts, and you’re not there, you will receive a “missed test.” If you receive 3 missed tests in a 12-month period, you will have committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation, and you WILL be sanctioned.

Lol at the thought of usada going to Russia.

Hahahaha.

They can hide in the banks Panama and become untraceable.

USADA requires to know your location at all times which is one of the reason Nick Diaz and USADA dont go well

Seems like a few loopholes are still wide open so i def can see people still getting away with shit

you have to supply

1) Your overnight place of stay
2) your usual place of training and times
3) your place of work and usual times
and then
4) any other places you are regularly at regular times so if you coach a kids basketball team every tuesday from 7-8pm etc

As far as training on a mountain, that would fall under overnight location, and testers would be more than capable of turning up there at 6am to test him

and athletes that repeatedly put in suspicious filings, show a pattern of last minute changes to information etc, will in all likelihood he targetted even heavier

only slight different to that is the UFC program doesnt have the fixed 60 minute window.

LOL imagine Vitor, Ubereem and Jones all living in Caucasian mountains and dancing lezginka out of pure joy because USADA can't find them

How? I'd love to hear how you think it can be exploited.

its pretty widely abused to be honest. From Lizzie Diegnan's phone on silent to Mo Farah's broken doorbell. :D

but its way better than it used to be.. There was a time whereabouts filings were 9-5 monday to friday and you were allowed to specify "holiday"

You're kidding right? You do know that USADA will test athletes in ANY country.

Yep. Nick is the only UFC fighter so far to get a violation due to WhereAbout failure (3 missed tests = a violation). Thus why he was suspended.
How? The system is pretty solid, with the built-in leeway of 3 strikes in a rolling 12 month period, otherwise it's strict.
They went into the shithole Magana lives in. They went into a shady part of Thailand to test Cyborg. Etc.
How? I'd love to hear how you think it can be exploited.
RUN NOW.........USADA!
