2 Bidders had made it to the final round for the construction and operation of a new Israel desalination plant. Israel ditched Hong Kong based Hutchinson Water after Washington leaned on Israel , claiming it was a security risk for Israel.

The founderof Hutchinson Whampo has of late run afoul of the CCP but still has significant links and investment to the mainland, which concerned the US.

Hutchison lost its Israeli bid at a time of rising frictions between the U.S. and Beijing over trade and the deadly coronavirus that originated in China. Israel has found itself caught in this conflict, under pressure from the U.S. to cool its relations with Beijing, rather than expand them as it had hoped. Just two weeks ago, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo flew to Israel for discussions with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on issues including China’s role in the Israeli economy.

The Trump administration is pushing allies to avoid Chinese businesses perceived as threats to their national security, and according to a report on Tuesday on the Ynet news website, Pompeo specifically raised concerns regarding Hutchison’s participation in Israel’s desalination plant tender.

Along with adding several Chinese companies to a sanctions blacklist and banning Taiwanese semiconductor mfg TSMC from selling chips to Huawei, the US is slowly turning the heat up on China.

Hopefully we block Huawei's big telecom plans across the US and Europe

Good. Finally Israel comes through after all, all that we do for them.

finally we did the wise decision
our economy depends a lot on high tech development and chinese investors are our main investors so u can might understand why we have a good relationship with china
but the relationship with the us are far more important due to the support at the un

Israel is the worst ally any nation could have. Maybe the could steal more from us and sell more of our tech to China?

Well, they are not an ally. That's just PR. They are the one walking America on a leash like a pet, for now there is little Americans can do about it. Best to be well behaved basically and perhaps wait for the best time to 'run away' when it's an option.

I jokingly call them an ally. They are our enemies. We get zero benefits from our relationship. Nothing but a drain on all levels. Dumb fucking goy cucks we are.

Israel is stupid if they think China can save them or is preferable to the US. Israel doesnt have anything the chinese need, it would be different if they had oil. Israel trying to be friendly to china is a sign of weakness I think. Desperation

UPDATE

Israel said set to reject Chinese bids for role in 5G network infrastructure

Israel is reportedly set to reject Chinese bids for the deployment of fifth-generation (5G) wireless networks, both because the US has urged it to limit Chinese involvement in its strategic projects and because Israeli security officials are concerned that China could abuse its involvement in the project to spy on Israel.
