US Grappling is bringing a gi and no-gi points tournament to the Atlanta area on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Suwanee Sports Academy. This event will have divisions for adult men, men over the age of 30, and adult women. This is a single elimination Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and submission grappling tournament. Registration is now open!

Things that will make this tournament run smoothly:

1. No kids. This is an adults only BJJ and submission grappling tournament. This means that the adult divisions will begin at the beginning of the day (first matches start at 11 AM!).

2. We will be capping competitors at 500! This venue, our staff, and our bracketing can handle this many competitors in a very efficient manner throughout the day.

3. Reward for early registration: Register online at US Grappling Atlanta | US Grappling. If you're one of the first 50 to register, you get a free event T-shirt AND save $15!

4. Practical prizes for absolute division winners! If you win the adult men or women's gi absolute division, you get a FREE GI! That's any skill level, white through black. If you win the adult men or women's no-gi absolute division, you get a free pair of board shorts and rashguard with the US Grappling logo! This is for any skill level, novice through advanced!

Saturday weigh ins will be held from 8 AM to 9:30 AM for anyone competing in no gi divisions, and will be extended to noon for any adults that will only be competing in the gi. Competitors do not need to wear the gi during weigh ins. Competitors can also register and weigh in Friday night. More information on Friday night weigh ins coming soon.

Night before weigh ins will take place at the venue from 6-8 PM.

How many divisions do you typically do for purple belt?

how close to the 500 competitor cap are you? any idea how big the featherweight blue and intermediate divisions are at the moment?

At the moment, no divisions exist because nobody has weighed in. We're not going to reach the cap, so if you need to register Saturday morning, you'll be fine.
