Social US birth rate drops to its lowest point in more than a century

I own a home, have a wife and two kids. I have infinitely more to worry about than your apartment renting, video game playing welfare case.

When you can't hack it, it's much easier to pretend you never wanted it.

Give your head a shake.

I've been a home owner since 25, nice try though.

Time for more immigrants

Your shitposting is tiresome old man.
These stats/trends are happening everywhere and most certainly include men. They coincide with marriage decline, birth rate decline, etc. We thought the 20th century was "the century of the self".....apparently we were only getting warmed up.

Getting laid is now considered too much effort for the apathetic newer generations. Sad!

I've got a 50+ year old paranoid potato farmer and a welfare-wanting video game incel trying to chat shit. LOL.

Never change Sherdog.
LOL at this diarrhea. Your posts are one fail after another, literally four in a row in this case. Triggered much?

A lot of people get started late for economic reasons and with that age comes a lot of medical complications.

I know a lot of people having a first kid in their late 30s.
I know a decent number of people who needed medical assistance to conceive.
If you don't have insurance, having a baby costs around 30k and daycare starts at 12k a year.

It’s simple. Younger generations are selfish entitled brats, for the most part. Children require sacrifice.

I haven't read any possible causes for the drop other than COVID restrictions.

I remember in the last couple of years some saying they didn't want to bring up children due to great fears over climate change. It would be interesting to see ones political leanings when it comes to child birth. Possibly blue states are seeing fewer children being born compared to red states.

I feel like most of the top conservative women - the Laura Ingraham, Anne Coulter types, never have kids or even marry.

Then I guess there are the Sarah/Bristol Palin types, propagating themselves nonstop.

Laura Ingraham and Anne Coulter, as distasteful as I find them, are educated. The Palins are not. Well, Sarah does have a BA (in Journalism of all things), but I think she went to like 5 different schools before finishing.

Capitalism has a much bigger emphasis on self-reliance. Your retirement, healthcare and expenses are much less reliant on government than socialism. If all of a sudden there were no government entitlements, you would still be able to continue living the same quality of life as you do not rely on the government to provide those things. So a sharp decrease in working population and less tax revenue would not have as big of an effect on your life than if you were reliant on the government to provide for you.

With socialism, if the tax base declines then you simply don't have the resources to provide for the people who are reliant on your services.

Yeah, a sharp decrease in working population doesn't have a big effect on your life. I mean, the Great Depression was rosy for most Americans.

The Great Recession of 2008 didn't cause nearly as much abject misery as the Great Depression as a direct result of social safety nets and government intervention. You're clearly too blinded by ideology to see what's right in front of your face.

Fewer people is good news.

We're overpopulated. We are overburdening the planet.

Less people means you don't need as high an economic output. Recessions would be fine. The reason they aren't now is because of an ever growing population and inflation.

Good. There are too many people as it is. Now if we could just get some of the developing countries to follow this trend we could make some real progress.
This. Stop immigration and allow developed nations to deflate their populations. When the developed world catches up, hopefully the same thing happens to then

Falling birthrates is the only logical consequense of a knowledge society where children goes from an investment to a cost.

no one wanted to give birth during a pandemic due to health risks. It will go back up
