On the next [two] cards I’m just going to highlight a few fighters I’m excited about and that you need to keep your eye on (sorry kids this list won’t include Artem Lobov).
Hakeem Dawodu -http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Hakeem-Dawodu-158725
This guy is super explosive. He has quick and powerful hands in the pocket and can quickly fire off a 2 piece combo without the biscuit. He’s also got some dangerous Muay Thai where he uses elbows viciously and regularly uses the Thai plum ala Anderson Silva. Not sure what his ground game looks like but he sure as hell makes up a lot for his overall athleticism.
He’s facing Danny Henry on March 17th @ UFN London
The next two guys you’re probably already familiar with having already made their debuts. Nonetheless, to those who have been sleeping —
Calvin Kattar - http://m.sherdog.com/fighter/Calvin-Kattar-23782
The man made a name for himself on short notice and completely dismantled Fili on about a weeks notice. Then he faced another prospect in a prospect killer fight and showed some VERY clean boxing technique and with it, he showed why they call him ‘The Boston Finisher’ by knocking out Shane Burgos. The man has an impressive array of jabs and great timing and fundamentals overall. His grappling seems reactive but a bit still unknown.
He’s facing Renato Moicano, who deserves a honorable mention on April 7th @ UFC 223 Brooklyn.
Zabit Magomedsharipov -

Standing 6’1” you’ll be hard pressed to find a taller featherweight that moves the way he does. This guy has it all: wrestling — BJJ — striking — all in spades. He’s AS athletic as his smaller FW counter parts, even attempting a ‘Showtime Kick’ in his debut, so he’s gonna be a major problem for the division. He’s practically ready right now to challenge for the belt.
He’s facing slaughter to the lamb Kyle Bochniak on April 7th @ UFC 223 Brooklyn.
