I have a KORAL CLASSIC A0 GI that I use to compete with. When I tried to check my weight without and with the newly washed GI it weighted 1.8KG=3.968lbs. At competition day I made weight barley, after that I ate and drank and ate some more, but after the matches I checked the weight again just to see and I had lost 0,1kg!

A few days later when my GI had dried from the sweat I tried to check my weight with and without the gi again, and now it weights 1.1kg = 2.425lbs

how is this possible? Im gonna "save" this unwashed gi for competitions :)

Scales often have a range of accuracy. So a scale that is used to weigh people probably doesn't weigh very light things very well. I think you are just using a scale meant to measure much heavier items. Try wearing your gi and weighing then taking it off then subtract the numbers and see what you get.

I used the same digital $150 scale, and checked my weight with the gi on, and with the gi off... and compared the numbers

Yeah dude, that's grim. Either lose weight or fight in a higher category, don't make people smell your stinking gi.

I'm glad that where I go to class, they pretty much will not allow you to participate with a uniform that smells like shit. If you do come to class without your gi washed, they will ridicule you to the point that you will want to leave.

unfortunatly, a lot of guys at my gym just hang them up in the change room and leave them until next practice. I can't stand that. I make my wife wash mine:D
