Unsigned Heavyweights - Thread Four

Seems like it wasn't posted here - April 26, Fight Nights Global 93 has Malykhin-Maldonado as a main event.
Also announced for this event Dmitry Minakov vs. Artur Aliskerov but I'm not sure it's a HW bout.

I'm depressed that all the top russian HW prospects got crushed in the last 6 months. Are they any dynamic HW pressure grapplers I can pin my hopes on instead? (They don't gotta be russian)

Why? Russian orgs are ammong, if not the, most protective matchmakers on the planet...

For them two points are important, 1. bring in foreign fighters which seem quite strong but are very beatable in order to show the Russian crowd that Russians are superior to all "westerners", and
2. build up local stars by feeding no names to them beatable, preferebly foreign fighters, as long as possible... and when you do that all the time then it is more than likely that at one point in their
career their fighters will be exposed... this is especially forced in HW where the competition is shallow, in lower weight classes they have a large talent pool and therefore its harder to do so,
altought, when looking at the fight cards of Akhmat you can have events where every single Akhmat fighter has won, even if having more than 15 fights on the card, however, you never see
an Akhmat fighter doing something abroad

Mayes is the most UFC ready guy on there by far. I'm expecting him to get in on a finish. It's insane how Mayes isn't already on the roster. Lawson is very interesting, all the guys at AKA say he's the next big thing out of that camp, so we'll see how he looks. Lawson will also fight on TitanFC on April 26th before this fight.

interesting that they were after Martinek, that means they are searching for more European talent, so i would like to see Alexander Romanov and Sergey Spivak get a opportunity, they're the 2 top heavyweights still fighting on the regional scene in small promotions, both young and undefeated

I was thinking the exact same thing. Those two would be perfect.

He seemingly lost to Vladimir Mishchenko via some type of choke, but it's difficult to see.

Chomonov might be the first male krygistan to fight in the ufc, but will not be the first to win a fight. his org seems to be a can system, wouldn't doubt they overturned the result on their tapology page and claimed other guy cheated.

staples of the scene like Kudin and Geronimo would beat fat boy on short notice and hung over

Lol at these old Russian Fighters! The only name you need to watch for is Tyrell Fortune! Mic drop

Watch Tyrell "the next big thing" start to train for his Next Bellator fight.
