so on Muslims, trump has basically gone from: "no muslims" to "no Muslims from these countries" to "Muslims from anywhere but better vetting."

    paraphrasing from the video below:

"I appreciate [Paul Ryan's] genius more and more...unless he says something bad about me then I won't say that."

"Lock her up...that plays great before the election....but now we don't care."

Where is the wall in his first 100 days plan? He's talking about building more of a "fence" in certain areas now lol.

    "more votes equals a loss....revolution!"

so who is trump lying to? the base that voted for him, or is he trying to alleviate the fears of the rest of the general pop?

It saddens me that a wimp like yourself teaches children. Undoubtedly some will grow up as pathetic as yourself

It would be worse under Hillary. America got stuck with 2 pieces of shit for choices.

My question is, where did this sudden need to bring in all these 'refugees' come from?

It seems to have appeared out of nowhere, like most government causes and ideas.

    what would have been worse?

to me, it looks as if trump has abandoned his entire platform. all politicians make promises that they cant, or wont, keep, but this is unusual imo.

I don't know how anyone can stomach Trevor Noah or the new Daily Show.

He is an unfunny blowhard, and the show is just terrible.

To your question: I'd lean more towards 'normal pandering'.

Nothing about politicians backtracking is unprecedented.

    He's funnier than Dana Gould.

It's not normal. Presidents normally keep about three-quarters of campaign promises, and at least try on close to 100%. Trump is easily the most dishonest major-party candidate we've ever had, and it's precisely this kind of ignorant cynicism that allows him to get away with it.

    id probably agree with you.

purpose of the thread wasnt really advertising for noah. the quotes in the video are real, as was the contradictory platform before the election.

Yeah but you think that Hillary Clinton is honest, so I can't really trust your judgment on this one.

right wing people will scoff at this, i get it. but ive never seen anyone do more than that with politifact. they lay out exactly why each claim gets the rating they give it. ive not seen anyone actually attempt to break it down. it just looks more like "i dont agree with it so its biased" shit to me.

and juding from the OP, politifact is looking more and more and more and more legit

Completely agree. The fact that he's not even in office yet, and he's blatantly telling his supporters that he was bullshitting them is astonishing to me. Somehow, the people still don't care and act like he's a godsend to save the country. It's crazy.

Well, Politifact has the word 'Fact' right there in the title, so everything seems to check out by my estimation.

and thats the type of response you generally get when politifact is cited. scoffs, and nothing of substance.

And what is it that makes you put your trust in it exactly?

    Scoffs from the opposition?

Yeah, so three-quarters kept or compromised on, which is normal based on my comments (which, in turn is based on the research).

You can check out the individual claims. But the conclusion isn't what you want to hear so it must be false.

    journalism

whats F'ing hilarious, is that journalism needs a special monicker today like "fact checker." actually its sad. they lay out a very specific claim, and then lay out very specific evidence either in support of or against the claim. thats actually pretty rare these days on either the right or the left.

they also dont just throw out pulitzer prizes to just anyone, though i suspect it will just be claimed that theyre left leaning next.

As if you have researched all individual claims.

Sorry but just saying the word 'journalism' isn't a good reason for me to trust Politifact
