There's been a lot of people stating how they think jones will win, others how they think dc will win, with most predictions being relatively straightforward. My gut instinct tells me dc will ragdoll jones, however I'm wondering if jones might decide to pull guard instead of allowing dc to take him down, thus kind of taking the wind out of cormier's sails in a sense. Anyhow, that is my unorthodox prediction. What do you guys see happening that most others probably wouldn't expect?

You really think that's gonna happen? If so, how? :(

I can imagine DC steamrolling Jones; pressuring him hard and outwrestling him in the clinch and then blasting him Bigfoot style in the stand-up.

On the other hand, I can also imagine DC being outclassed in disappointing fashion: with Jones too big, too long and too fast for him to mount an effective offence.

That's why this fight is such a nail-biter.

An unorthodox prediction? Jones blasting DC with a knee, Fujita style. You know he has to have been working them with Overeem, and it wouldn't be the first time he brought something completely new to the able. He's extremely creative, and he has the perfect frame for utilising the Overeem knee game.

DC, sadly, is also very well suited for being a victim of it, frame and style wise. Rooting for him in a big way, though!

Jones via controversial TKO stoppage (un seen eye poke similar to Faber's last fight)

Jon Jones with a flying knee or brutal elbows and uppercuts from the clinch. If Jones wins it will be something stunning, because he really does have to do some crazy shit to keep Cormier off of him

I've been looking forward to the possibility of Cormier manhandling Jones for so long that I'm starting to think he'll get knocked out via a knee to the jaw in the first 20 seconds when going for a takedown.

I see Jones pulling off an obnoxiously slick submission from the bottom forcing DC to tap. Three weeks later he gets busted buying molly with a trannie in Jamaica.

Did you see DC's vicious gnp against Barnett? I don't know if wants to play with that-- unless he wants to show off his BJJ.

I think a better example of an unorthodox prediction would be that DC wins easily, because there is no way that is going to happen. I guess you have hit on it, though:

The only prediction to make here is how Jones will win.

    This.

DC only has his wrestling and clinchwork, but I feel after outwrestling Jones in the first 2, Jones will land something and win the remainder of the fight

    Jones 3-2

Eh. With jones's long limbs, it's feasible that he can tie up cormier as well as land some elbows from the bottom, similar to silva, condit, and florian.

I think if Cormier wins it would be a very boring fight, clinch and grind up against the cage.

DC dominates the entire fight. That means he most likely wins, BUT what is possible is: DC adrenaline dumps, yet still dominates the entire fight, until the lack of energy catches up to him and Bones beats him, probably by sub in the 3rd or 4th.

Jones throws one punch, knocks DC out.
