University of Washington cheerleading squad under fire for body requirement poster.

The offensive poster in question:

After a social media firestorm, the University of Washington cheerleading squad took down a poster with "do's and don'ts" of how people should look for their upcoming tryouts.

Twitter and Facebook users called out the squad, saying the poster encourages body shaming and prioritizes appearance over ability with "body do's" like being "physically fit" with an "athletic physique." They also ask that potential cheerleaders wear just a sports bra and mid-rise black shorts, while telling them not to wear any tops "that cover the midriff" or high-waisted shorts.

In a statement, the University of Washington athletic department said they instructed the squad to take down the poster after realizing that it could be seen as offensive.

If gender is a social construct and one can be non-binary and fluid, you can't force a specific look or dress code because you are incorrectly enforcing a specific version of gender. It's the same reason that in NY, dress codes for waiters and waitresses are not allowed, because you're enforcing a view that is no longer tolerated. Why should a man wear a tie if he identifies as a woman, or a woman wear a skirt if she identifies as a man?

People don't realize the slippery slope this ideology opens up, and it only stops when we accept that all people are the same.

I always though cheerleading was kind of fake. But they should be in shape and be physically fit. All the make-up and fake smiles I never really cared for. The girls that could do all that and look natural and have a genuine smile were the ones that were more attractive.

Cheerleading requirements promote an unhealthy body image. Yet being a fat fucking slob is healthy. Telling a 500 pound person to lose weight is offensive and wrong. Again, biology doesn't exist, only feelings.

What exactly is suspicious? I just got curious and looked and their anchors look fine. Perhaps both CNN and Fox should fire all their female anchors. They seem to be build like average girls from the 80's and we can't have that. The both need to have 200 lbs female anchors. Oh so much body shaming going on and CNN is just as guilty.
