Crime United Healthcare CEO assassinated in NYC

And they proceeded to never get lucky and thatcher lived to be in her 80's. They did kill a lot of kids, though, so cool quote.

And eventually the British government struck a deal with the IRA. In no small part because they were sick of the violence, especially when it targeted, "VIP's" like Thatcher, Neave and Mountbatten.

Gerry Adams was part of the Brighton Bombing plot, and he ended up one of the most powerful politicians in Northern Ireland.

Blowing up kids in hospitals usually makes people pay attention, sure.

Sadly, it does.

I'm no fan of the IRA. Most of them were cowards, sociopaths or both*. But the fact remains they were able to make the British Government so disgusted with the whole sordid mess of The Troubles they eventually tapped to strikes and signed the Good Friday Agreement.

*Not that the Loyalist terror gangs were any better, of course.

When a friend of mine has his kids, him and his girl did the thing where they don't list the father so they can get the state to pay for medical. I thought it was kinda slimy until he showed me what the medical bills for childbirth looked like before Medicaid or whatever covered everything. He would have been out tens of thousands of dollars for a fairly standard delivery.
My last job had shit insurance. When wife got pregnant I went on the job hunt and found my current job which has insanely good health insurance.

I had a job I liked that paid well, and I had to go get a new job to not pay 14k to start a family as births almost always take you to the max out of pocket line between them charging both the mom and the baby

I know my little sister had $10k in medical debt from her baby, and she has teacher insurance which used to be pretty good but each year has been getting less and less for budget cuts

Anyone playing games to try and lighten the healthcare cost load…. I understand

A for-profit healthcare system definitely doesnt HAVE to exist. Neither do middle-man industries who make medical care worse for both Doctors and consumers.
But with Universal Healthcare, the quality of treatment goes down overall. I agree a for-profit healthcare system is ripe for abuse, but how do we continue to get people the best healthcare possible?

And a level 3 sex-offender being gunned down in cold blood would DEFINITELY be celebrated. For sure.
Know, I said that. I'm asserting that it still doesn't justify cold blooded murder.

How about Obama? He’s killed thousands.

What if one of the families who lost a family member in the Afghanistan withdrawal killed Biden? Justified?
Exactly. It's a bad road to go down. There would be plenty of people who would celebrate those murders and find ways to justify it. But, as a society, there has to be a line in the sand on taking matters into your own hands and murdering somebody. There can't be magical exceptions.

I can't see the murder itself achieving anything directly, but the public online reaction to it shows the degree and breadth of dissatisfaction with the system.
Hard to imagine that even American politicians would be too detached, incompetent, co-opted or unaccountable to recognise that and address it.
I agree, and wouldn't be surprised to see some legislative changes. But wouldn't that send a bad message too? We're fixing things to be better as a result of a cold blooded murder?

You could say this about the CEOs of lots of companies. Would it be okay to gun down the CEO of a defense contractor?
I don’t know, make your case for it and explain how it’s similar.

The thing is that this guy did things that we all know are morally reprehensible and should be illegal. Things that should rightfully get him charged with thousands of negligent homicides. But the system is built to work for him and not his victims.

I saw you posted that it breaks your heart that his kids will see this video some day. That’s sad. Truly. But now think about all of his victims and their families.

It may make other CEO's more wary of regarding poor people's death and misery as simply the price of doing Business. It's one thing to sit comfortably in a lavish boardroom and reduce other human beings to statistics on a spreed-sheet. Secure in the knowledge that they will face no consequences beyond, at worst, a fine they can pay out of petty cash. Quite another to factor in the possibility they just might piss off someone so badly they will go Full Punisher on them.

And yes, the immediate reaction of high level corporate officers will be to significantly increase their personal security. But at the back of their minds will be the knowledge that if someone is out to get them, the message the IRA sent to Thatcher after the Brighton Bombing 40 years ago still applies today,

"You will have to be lucky all the time. We only have to be lucky once".
Fair points. I really set off a shit storm in here lol. Too late to edit my posts?

JFC you’re unhinged. Let me guess… pit bull owner and advocate?
So in your conspiracy theory methed out brain when you get caught making up totally false allegations about multiple people supporting an assassination that they spoke out against you start talking about "pitbulls????"

This is an epic straw grab as you drown in your own stupidity. You can't handle adult topics. Lmao

I'm sorry for your poor reading comprehension. Tomorrow when I have more time I'll see if I can clear it up for you.
You’re reverting to type Andy. Just when I thought you could have an honest discussion. Instead you decide to get defensive instead of simply providing a straightforward answer.

I was right wasn’t I? Next question… do you beat your wife?

Yeah, you don't want to kickstart the idea of political change via murder. They'd have to make sure to spell out that it was a reaction to obvious widespread public sentiment and the underlying issues, not a response to political violence.
Even so, it's an admission of failure and being completely out of touch.
It is very telling to see such a reaction to the murder of an insurance CEO though. From the social media comments, emojis and videos, all the way through to the Deny, Defend, Depose t-shirt sales and even supposedly the jacket and bag the guy was wearing suddenly selling out.
It's not like this UHC guy was a known public figure beyond his job.

You are literally shit posting in broken English. Stop pretending like you're ccapable of or that you have the capacity to have a conversation, let alone an honest one.

You got busted making shit up. Now you're having a melt down to save face.

Amazon are scrambling to restock the Deny, Defend, Depose book, as it hasn't been available in paperback for some time(you can still buy it on Kindle).

Yeah a lot of us that grew up in different times have a "no handouts" mentality due to wanting to be self sufficient. But I always have to remind myself that a lot of things are designed to exploit people just because they can now. I certainly don't remember anyone going into life altering debt just because they had a child when I was growing up.

I think the book's title is Delay, Deny, Defend.
Doesn't surprise me though given the reaction.

You accused multiple posters of supporting something they spoke out against. Exposing your complete lack of ability to read at a 3rd grade level.
Here is some feedback on your stupidity from your peers. Cope harder dork.

That guy did the same thing with me. I specifically said I don't condone it and then he condemned me for condoning it...

I will refer you to this post, where I explicitly say that I do not support the murder.
There are literally 4 people in the thread calling you out for being borderline illiterate. Lmao
