the line became the intellectual property of the ad agency he worked for.

Typical corporate law.

Kind of like using an email as evidence clear your name over some bs, and they say the email is company property or something like that

Yes, the great things the Japanese did for the Koreans and the Chinese, like infecting them with diseases them dissecting them while still alive without anesthetics to track the progression of the disease.

The Japanese exterminated many more civilians and POWs than the Germans even thought of.

When the adverting industry was trying to get Americans to buy Japanese products, one guy apparently a little fed up with the sugar coating, proposed a slogan; From those wonderful folks who gave you Pearl Harbor and the Bataan Death March. Della Femina, the head of the advertising agency later wrote a book using the first part of that line. Another interesting part of this story is that the person who actually came up with the line never got credit because the line became the intellectual property of the ad agency he worked for.

You ever see Mad Men?

I never hear of Sparta invading Persia.

Persian gold coins had an archer on it. When the Spartans were forced to leave, due to Persia paying off Spartan enemies in Greece to attack them, the Spartan commander said something along the lines of "It is 10,000 arrows that force me home."

I tried finding the exact quote, but google is saturated with pages about the movie 300 and the battle of Thermopylae. But yea, they attacked Persia. Then you had Greek mercenaries fight deep into Persia as well. The commander they fought for lost, they were trapped deep into Persian lands, and had to march all the way back to Greece all the while being chased by the Persians and other enemies. And they did make it home.

The Japanese also tried to deliver anthrax, bubonic plague and firebombs to the US using weather balloons.

Some WW2 that alot of people didn't know about:

Both Great Britain and the United States did fight France in WW2. After the french surrendered sotuhern France along France's former colonies would be led by the so called Vichy government. The Vichy government was the de jure government of France, kinda.
The brits were afraid the french navy etc. would fight for Germany/be used by Germany.

"The times were desperate; invasion seemed imminent; and the British government simply could not afford to risk the Germans seizing control of the French fleet.... The predominant British motive was thus dire necessity and self-preservation"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attack_on_Mers-el-Kébir

Thousands died when Britain attacked the french navy.

In the Battle of Dakar the brits tried to capture the Vichy port in West Africa but failed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Dakar

The British invaded the french protectorate of Syria-Lebanon during the summer of 1941.

Americans fought french soldiers during operation Torch in North Africa.

You're talking about unit 731? Yes I know of the horrific things the Japanese did during WW2. The Rape of Nanjing is enough to make one be horrified of Japanese atrocities. Many Korean men were used as forced labor in the pacific islands and many of them were massacred when they were sent to attack American positions without real weapons.

If you're thinking I'm trying to spin a narrative of "Japan was pretty good to Korea!" you missed my point. The history of the Japanese occupation of Korea is a very complex one. For all the terrible shit they did, Koreans have to admit that one of the factors they live in the comforts they do now is a result of the Japanese. And most of the terrible shit they did was to other countries they conquered in war. Take into account the condition of the regular Korean peasant before the 1910. Consider that Japanese policies in Korea treated it much like Japanese territory, rather than merely a colony. The colonial policies of Japan were very different from how European powers treated their colonies. They took painstaking effort to try to assimilate Koreans into Japanese culture (including my grandmother who was educated by the Japanese and a woman being educated before then wasn't common). Consider that the Chung, the poster boy for Korean conservatism and man heralded for bringing industrial and economic prosperity to Korea, was educated as an officer in the IJA and took advantage of the agricultural and industrial foundation established by the Japanese in his New Town Movement in the 60s. Many of the officials in post-war Korea's government police worked with the Japanese during the occupation and criticized by pro-Kim Ilsung/pro-Soviet leftists for being collaborators, which is ironic because the "pro-Japanese" rightist South is the one that pushed more for national autonomy after the war and shunned American support before the Korean War.

The history of the occupation bleeds directly into the history of the Korean war and of modern post-war Korea. I'm not trying to say Japan was "good" or that Koreans should be grateful. I didn't say any of the things that benefited Korea was "good" although I guess most people would see standardized education as being "good" (I don't). My point is that the narrative of the Japanese occupation being simplified into "Japan was 100% evil!" is used as a political tool in modern times and there is no care given to the actual study of the history. That's my biggest issue with these narratives; nobody really cares about the history but they spew this rhetoric to push their agenda. In Korea, people start to care a lot more about the occupation when it's voting season, and when politicians try to get more brownie points with voters by engaging in "who hates Japan more" contests. This narrative also blinds people's current political leanings as leftists protest any sort of military cooperation with Japan even though such cooperation is to combat our current, actual enemy, North Korea.

The Japanese also tried to deliver anthrax, bubonic plague and firebombs to the US using weather balloons.

They also made a plan to bomb NY using submarine carriers.

This post will probably be long but it will detail some of the occult teachings of the Nazi party. Everyone knows the Nazi's were ass wild and it was one of the most horrific time periods in human history but there is a deeper and darker side to the story that many might not be aware of.

th

Helena Blavatsky, above, was the founder of an occultic religion called Theosophy. She wrote several occult books and in one of them, called The Secret Doctrine, she wrote that the lost continent of Atlantis produced a race of super human giants known as Aryans that were supposedly of Persian decent.

th

Guido Von List

A man named Guido von List took Blavatsky's idea and Germanized it, linking the Aryan master race with Germans rather than the Persians that Blavatsky linked them to. During this time period the world saw the rise of what is called spiritualism which taught that the living could contact the dead. This also includes many of the things we see today like palm reading, seances, tarot cards, astrology, etc.

330px-J%C3%B6rg_Lanz_von_Liebenfels.jpg

von Liebenfels

The occultist Blavatsky wrote the history of the Aryans, Von List Germanized the idea, and then a man named Jorg Lanz von Liebenfels, picture above, targeted the Jews as the enemy of the Aryans because they were a "lower race", beast-like, and possibly demonic. He got this idea in an Abby that showed a stone with a nobleman stepping on the back of a beast. In this way Von Liebanfels became obsessed with the idea that noble and higher races must suppress the lower races and one the ways to do this he said was to sterilize them. He said they were dangerous because they didn't have to take up arms to defeat you, the weapon they used was simply existing and that they would breed you out of existence.

Von Liebenfels published a circulation in Vienna called Ostara, who was the German goddess of Spring, which detailed these ideas. Hitler was a reader of Ostara and this is where Hitler got the idea of the Aryan race and its need to destroy the lower races for the sake of racial purity. Hitler recalls in Mein Kampf that by the time he left Vienna he had already established his world view that the Jews had to be destroyed one way or another. All these ideas are rooted
in occult writings and traditions. This would have been around 1913, long before he rose to power.

th

Thule Society

The legendary Aryan homeland was called Thule. After the Germans surrendered in WWI some anti-semites formed a secret society called the Thule society. Their main concerns are politics, occultism, and the Jews. The Thule Society becomes the beginnings of the Nazi party. They start by creating the German Workers Party. The German army, suspicious of the Thule Society send a soldier to spy on the Thule society, that soldier was Adolf Hitler. Hitler finds that the Thule Society shares the same ideas as he has and so he joins the German Workers Party which they later changed the named to the National Socialist German Workers Party, Nazi for short. They later use this as their election symbol.

th

Rudolf Hess, Hitler's right hand man and second in command, was deep into occultism like astrology. Hitler met Hess in jail after a failed coup attempt on the German government after WWI. This is also when he wrote Mein Kampf which was inspired by his occultist mentors. He even dedicates the book to Dietrich Eckart, an extremely anti-Semitic in the Thule Society. He gets out of jail nine months later and goes right back to organizing the Nazi party and spreading ideas of the Aryan race.

Heinrich Himmler, above, was in charge of the SS. He was a psychopathic mass murderer and convinced he was a reincarnated ancient king, Henry the Fowler. Fowler was called this because he was handling his birds when the messenger arrived to tell him he would be king. Henry the Fowler is considered to be the first Germanic king. Himmler held events at the grave of Henry the Fowler and when he married he and his wife bought a poultry farm.Himmler was one of the most powerful and feared men on earth and he was genuinely a nutter.

Himmler then founded the Ahnenerbe which was he German research institute which would prove the superiority of the German Aryan race. They used bad science to spread the idea of the Aryan race not only to the SS soldiers but also to the German people. He chooses Wewelsburg Castle as his headquarters for his occult religion based on Arianism. This castle also had occult roots and was used to torture witches during the inquisition.

Himmler turned Wewelsburg Castle into an occult Camelot based on the myth of King Arthur. His knights of the round table were his 12 highest ranking SS members and they would sit around a table and contemplate and meditate on world domination. In this castle Himmler had a swastika stylized like a sun wheel, to the Thule society it was the black sun, with SS victory runes all over it.

th

Himmler's occult and most trusted advisor was Karl Maria Wiligut. Wiligut convinced Himmler that he had a mystical psychic connection with past German generals, kings, and heroes. Wiligut was a student of the runes, which were thought to have magical powers in occult circles. Wiligut had been diagnosed as a Schizophrenic and a megalomaniac and he was basically the high priest of the SS. He was in charge of many of the occult rituals that take place at this castle.

th

Karl Maria Wiligut

The SS Deathshead symbol and the SS rings, among other things, were designed by Wiligut as well as Himmler's hand carved throne chair that has all the magic runes carved into it. The SS had two major branches and were considered to be an army within an army. One branch carried out the ruthlessness of the Deathshead and the other branch carried out the final solution on the Jews. All of this headed up by occult teachings and two madmen, Himmler and Wiligut. One believed he was the reincarnted first king of the Germans and the other was a schizophrenic who studied magic German runes.

Wiligut was an expert in the Germanic magic runes and below is the throne chair plus the Deathshead rings with some of the runes shown.

Gatdamn that is some evil shit

Roman wine was grinded without separating the twigs from the grapes, as a result the consistency was almost honey-like after fermentation and the taste was quite sour and bitter, for this reason romans watered their wine heavily and added spices, honey and even lead (they didn't know it was poisonous) to sweeten it.

Check out Dan Carlins "hardcore history" podcasts....they're excellent

Growing up in The West during The Cold War I thought the story of WW2 was that the Brits and the US, along with us, India, Australia, Canada and a bunch of other smaller Western state combatants, beat Hitler pretty much by smashing our way from the English Channel to Berlin.

It wasn't until later I discovered the Russkies killed more Nazis than the rest of us combined. That in fact not only did the Russkies kill more Nazis than the rest of us combined, the Russkies killed maybe four times as many Nazis as the rest of us combined.

The Russkies also sported the only two female fighter aces in the history of air combat, Lydia Litvyak (12 kills) and Yekaterina Budanova (11 kills).

Also, anyone who enjoys learning about badass and uncommonly brave units should research the Nepalese Gorkhas. As Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw, who spent quite a bit of time working alongside Gorkhas, once said, "If a man says he is not afraid of dying, he is either lying ... or he is a Gorkha."

Yea, I mean what they did was bad enough, trying to commit genocide, but there is a deeper, darker, stranger side to history. Hitler surrounded himself with people who were pretty much mentally defective in one way or another and were into the occult and magic. There is more that I just didn't include because the post was already long as hell.

Its nuts to think about Wiligut, the high priest of the Nazi SS, was a diagnosed schizophrenic who was knowledgeable in the Germanic Runes of power and he was churning out these runes all over the Deathshead SS and his only real superior was Heinrich Himmler who believed he was the reincarnation of the first German king, Henry the Fowler. Together these two loons set up shop in a castle that was used to do tortures on "Witches" during the inquisition and proceeded to try to exterminate the Jews. This doesn't even touch on other things like either Hitler or Himmler wanted to find the spear of destiny to make themselves unbeatable on the field of battle. There were even stories of trips to the far east to look for ancient religious artifacts to help them with world domination.

So when you see weird shit in movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark with the Nazi's and the Ark of the Covenant

th

Or in video games in games like Wolfenstein that has magic and the occult and and even the Thule Society

th

Its because movies and game makers are playing on the history of the occult Nazi empire.
