Tyron Woodley earned the belt fair and square when he KO'd Lawler, but for some reason I resent the guy.
It probably has to do with Lawler being such an entertaining fighter that when he gets KO'd immediately, you almost feel like you just missed out on a potentially awesome and fun fight.
Another reason I probably resent him as champ is that although he earned the belt, he didn't really earn a title shot at all. His last fight he won was a close decision win over Kelvin Gastelum.
Finally, with woodley's style, I'm concerned that he could be a very boring champ in his next fights, especially if you compare him to Robbie Lawler's fun style.
Well that's my thoughts on the new welterweight champ.
Who knows, maybe he'll surprise me and prove me wrong.
