Underutilised IP's in gaming

What are some underutilised IP's in gaming in your opinion?

Personally I think there is real appeal in Dc's elseworlds and Marvel's what if. Where you have alternative takes on famous characters.
Specifically I feel like you could make a really good Batman's elseworlds game. Something like Batman in the 19th century in a gothic setting facing something supernatural would be really cool imo. Batman isn't an underutilised IP but I think we could have more unique games with him.

What do you think sherbros? any obscure or famous IP's out there that you would like to be turned into games?

Edit: there was a Gotham by gaslight game that was cancelled but that story was kinda predictable. Style the setting fits batman so perfectly.

Venom. He was a huge character in the Marvel universe when I was growing up in the 90's. Just one AAA Venom game made in the vein of the recent Spider-Man or Miles Morales games would be fantastic. A much darker, mature tone and characters like his ex-wife Ann (who eventually became a host for the symbiote alien herself! See BRIDE OF VENOM) and the psychotic and fully-believable character of the Sin Eater.

At least we're getting Venom in Spidey 2, though i would LOVE a Venom game by Insomniac.

True but it would still be awesome, or they could have the Dark Nights theme but make their own story. So much potential with a relatively new story/setting like that.

Yeah I think if they use the theme but take the story in a new direction it would be epic.

A lot of fantasy books would make a good basis for games. For example, an RPG, maybe action RPG or even an RTS game, set in the world of Malazan Book of the Fallen could be amazing.

Yeah a game set in the distant past of Westeros would be really cool. Problem is many games are too faithful to source material. It needs to share the setting with the original material but tell a different story.

I'd say fallout or elder scrolls. Let obsidian develop them
