We have seen many undefeated fighters enter the UFC. We have seen many fighters have a great run in the UFC. But when they lose many times it spells disaster for them in terms of there next couple of fights. How does, Jones, Khabib, tony, and Max to a certian extent do in the fights after a loss? So many times we have seen the mentality get destroyed by a loss. Confidence completely gone. See Barao and Glover for examples.
How fighters rebound from losses really tells you a lot about their willpower and character. We've seen fighters get caught up in their invincibility aura - never expecting to lose; Ronda being a prime example. To a certain aspect, that's the mindset you want to go into a fight with, but you also have to be able to take the losses on your chin and move on and learn from it. Something Ronda clearly didn't and something that taught us a lot about her character. Poirier, Holloway and Cejudo are examples of great, undefeated fighters who came back from losses completely redefined and better than ever. A recent example is Khalil Rountree, who came back completely different than he was before and looked amazing because of it. Clearly having learned from his loss.
It's funny seeing how far Weidman, Holly, and Joanna fell after losing their first fights. They went from beating everyone to barely being able to beat anyone. Anderson Silva has seen the same fate, but at least he has being way past his prime as an excuse.
Speaking of Barao, it's funny he got accusations of doping after better testing came in and he lost to TJ twice. The irony being it was TJ who was more likely on the juice, and continued to use it even after USADA.
ben askren is unbeatable.. Jones has lost and was fine with it,, Joanna went to the beach after losing and didnt seem to give a fuck.was posting vacation pics a day or two after. its just a sport i dont think many people care if they lose..
