if you watch the video, the door did blow out, and it's possible that he unbuckled and got sucked out, but either way, that must have been going 200mph when it crashed, jumping out is also a deathwishSome youtube comments says he jumped out the door right before the crash. But that sound kinda unbelievable to me.
Best video I've seen of the short flight and crash :
Crash video starts around t=15secs
Looks like the plane lost power and it YAWED slightly to starboard. I'd say lost right hand engine which would have meant it yawed right before pilot probably gave it a bootfull of left rudder.
Difficult to tell as the video is fairly low resolution.
Cannot see any birds on the video but they could have it JUST at takeoff. No obvious engine smoke or flame.
Total electrical failure? Total fuel failure?
Bit more info on the dude that survived.....
"Everything happened in front of my eyes. I thought I would die," Ramesh told NDTV in an exclusive interview on Friday. "The side where I was seated fell into the ground floor of the building. There was some space. When the door broke, I saw that space and I just jumped out."
From abcnews.com
Pilots Mayday call apparently said there's no power so couldn't climb so looks like both engines failed either birdstrikes or (more worryingly) some kind of total electrical failure as the RAT device had deployed (Ram Air Turbine propeller which is an emergency device that uses the exterior airflow under the fuselage to generate power if there's a major electrical failure ).
1st commercial crash ever of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
The survivor reported apparently the cabin lights were flickering and green emergency lights came on BEFORE the crash. The engines EEC will be multi or dual channel which should revert to a back up in an electrical failure such as hydro mechanical or redundancy channels to allow the engines to operate.
Maybe a software issue preventing channel switching.

So looks to me like total electrical failure or something or other electrically catastrophic.
Pilots reported no power and couldn't climb before they impacted ground.
The RAT propellor device apparently did deploy and that would happen due to electrical failure or both engines stopped for another reason and the APU stopped working or couldn't provide enough power. It's designed to provide some degree of emergency electrical power of something very unusual happens.
Yet another Boeing disaster. The 2 Max disasters, then the PR disaster of all their max planes being grounded and a huge investigation into the way that Boeing didn't even TELL pilots and copilot about the new MCAS systems on the Max (no training no knowledge no nothing) and hundreds of people died in 2 separate crashes.
Then separately the Boeing aerospace PR disaster with Boeing Starliner -- multiple failures and failed thrusters to the point that NASA refused to let 2 astronauts come BACK to Earth on their Boeing Starliner that they went to orbit on.
I suspect Boeing might just fold as a company OR be broken up and sold off. Utter management failures, corruption, shortcuts, not following procedures, skipping certification requirements, endless dodgy stuff. The Boeing culture is broken.

Yup and take off speed prob around 160 or 170knots and they clearly lost a lot if not all engine power about 10secs into flight and pilot flared near the end in a desperate bid to keep the nose up so that'll have lost even more airspeed and stalled it. Some people think the airspeed at impact was around 60knots less than takeoff speed. So....the RAT probably wasn't effective in that scenario as there's no indication the engines were starting to recover very late or anything.Yeah if an electrical catastrophe occurred which took out the EEC’s that’s bad, they monitor and regulate fuel control.
The Ram Air Turbines power is directly proportional to the aircraft’s speed, its power would significantly reduced, slow speed falling from around 600 feet in less than a minute, with increased drag from the landing gear.

Interesting the gear stayed down... Again.....massive electrical problem wouldve meant inability to retract the gear right? Even if the gear is actuated hydraulically..it's commanded by electrical input for sure. So the gear staying down is another nod towards some massive electrical failure or flash fire in an important wiring loom or something.
FDR black box should show the truth. CVR probably won't reveal that much as pilots DID make a Mayday call to ATC.
I've heard that before from a white photo journalist who was there, she said it was like going back in time. However, the one Indian I know well believes nothing. He will eventually be shunned, Indians are very superstitious.
There are no spiritual doctrines that would suggest that a plane crash survivor would receive anything but basic human empathy from the average Indian. He will eventually be shunned, Indians are very superstitious.
I’m thinking fuel, the odds of two engines having total mechanical failure at the same time are astronomical, possibly hydraulics played a part, can’t tell from the footage if flaps & slats are extended, but landing gear is down which increases drag.
