I'd like to see weight-cutting somehow be removed to being of lower importance. Have people fight more at their natural weight somehow -- although defining that is admittedly difficult. Being able to cut weight is of equal importance to striking and grappling skills in today's UFC IMO. Is anyone else sick of this? Is there a solution?

When the fight gets cancelled over that its annoying, other then that I don't care but I'm naturally not a fan of any big weight cutters

I would like to see em removed all together. You are either The Ultimate fighting champion. Or you are not.

I pick fights at bars and then tell the guy before we throw down that hes too big to fight.

it exists in boxing for long time with 20+ pounds cuts, even for lower weight classes, there were not able to fix it, why do you think UFC is able to fix it?
only IBF added rule with weigh in in day of the fight, with +10% added weight since official weigh in, and since then you don't need their belt to unify championships :)

Have the scale at the octagon to weigh in immediately before the fight. Then if someone misses they lose 50% of their pay and forfeit any other bonus.

What do you mean, you don't need their belt to unify championships? Many boxers have unified the IBF with other belts, and nobody is recognized as having unified all the belts unless the IBF belt is part of their collection.

that not gone happen. it been around for a long time and even longer in wrestling before ufc was a thing.

maybe I'm wrong, for sure only IBF has additional weigh ins

edit:: okey i was wrong, there was GGG-Jacobs fight, Jacobs was not fighting for IBF title, because he skipped last weigh ins, he lost anyway

UFC guys are less disciplined than boxers or wrestlers.

Also there is a huge benefit to coming in overweight and advantage. There is also not that big of a penalty.

If you can come in heavy and have no repercussions why not do it?

If the UFC made it a forfeit to miss weight, I guarantee all of these excuses for missing weight would suddenly dissapear.

Floyd payed someone 300k$ when he came overweight 1 pound, there was also big potential penalties in all his bouts, like Canelo's one.

I remember back In the day two sherdoggers got into an arguement and one challenged the other to a fist fight. The guy responded “if you can make 135 let’s do it” lmao

I wouldnt say less disciplined. Remember an mma fighter has many more aspects of their sports to train. But it definitely is a huge advantage to not make weight. Boxers miss weight all the time. Alot of championship fights have only been able to be won by one of the fighters because the other fighter missed weight.
