Found this quite interesting. This guy is an internal/external stylist teaching in London, England. He is entering an MMA fight, currently being rescheduled after a venue cancellation.

For what it's worth, I remember from my old TMA days that he had a pretty hardcore reputation as a real fighter, and he's running full contact stick competitions at his school - seems like a good attitude to me! Bearing in mind he must be in his 40's, it would be interesting to see how things work out, assuming he gets the fight organised.

Kung fu guys are generally all hype. They dont train groundgame so they will always loose in mma. I have personal experience (one kung fu instructor challenged me and I tooled him).

I don't know. Went to his website and his school also teaches old style thai and grappling, and even has an mma class, so he could actually be much more cross trained than you think. I think he is too old to really do anything, but maybe he can do pretty decently in the smaller curcuits, but I'd be interested in how well his students would do.

only dudes that have SEVERE insecurities broadcast their need to prove themselves.

many of these kung fu dudes are not real at all... their lineage is crap and they just watched old jet li movies and thought they could learn that way.

its saddening and a complete disgrace to the arts.

Props to him. He's got more balls then any of the Keyboard warriors on the internet, who love to run there mouth all day about what works and what doesn't.

kung fu looks fantastic
it makes you fit and agile
it doesn't work in mma
