I think the extreme opinions on both sides of the recent Conor drama is creating a ton of publicity for Conor and the UFC. I'm not 100% sure if they planned this together or if Conor is just shaking the trees, but either way, the world is once again focused on Conor McGregor and thus (directly or indirectly) focused on the UFC.

From my perspective, this is a brilliant conflict and highly beneficial to both parties even if they were ignorant (somehow I doubt) that it would play out on such a grand stage.

Reminds me of how rap beef (before it became watered down - See Biggie, Tupac) invigorated people's interest in rap. The only difference is that nobody has to die in this situation, although a full-camp Diaz could conceivably kill an ENERGY STAR® Conor.

What? Conor's employer is asking him to do his job that he is contractually obligated to do, and the Employee (Conor ) is refusing to do his job. That's all this is, period. No reason to make it out to be any more than this.

I wish his fans would understand this. It's plain and simple. He signed and then suddenly decided to not even attempt to fulfill his obligations.

Fighters are independent contractors not employees.

Oh, he actually wrote more than a few lines.

Fair enough..Conor has signed a contract to work for the UFC and is not fulfilling his contractual obligations. That better?

If he signed the contract he'd be in breach of contract, he normally doesn't sign until fight week so technically no he has no contractual obligations.

Silly shit. Silly silly stinking cat shit.

If that is the case he would not be obligated to do the promoting and this whole thing would be a non-issue. Fighters have contracts with the UFC for a certain number of fights, then agree to the terms of each fight, which is what you are referring to.

Nope, Dana took Conor at his word because Conor hasn't let him down yet now that McGregor is refusing they're forced to pull him and not move forward with him until contracts have been issued because they won't take him at his word anymore.

Biggie vs Tupac? Now I'm waiting for Dana to tweet Conor about Kavanagh, "First off, phuck yo bitch and the clique you claim."
