UFC Vegas 70: Krylov vs. Spann, Feb 25

Krylov all the way. Uses punches with kicks in combinations and then mixes takedowns with a fast pace. Spann is a decent puncher but can get sloppy throwing those hooks . The only way Krylov loses is if he gets choked out by a guillotine. Spann has shitty takedowns but Krylov can shoot a double better, should get the W.

Muniz and krylov 2 leg parlay

nothing else stands out as good bet

ufc 285 on the other hand is loaded with easy to predict fights - going to go big on that event

Think Spann can nuke anybody and is super dangerous in round 1

Krylov has a good chin, both Glover and Ankalaev have better technique/precision and i would argue punching power than Spann(although it's up for debate.)

Let's face it, any of the top lhw including Krylov would have knocked out Dom , he has become chinny/washed/ and came off a long break. That fight would have you believe Spann is like Mike Tyson.

Also Krylov had a good fight with Ankalaev who he matched in sig. strikes, and who did Ankalaev beat with ease? Anthony Smith, who demolished Spann.

You can rate Spann below Krylov, Ankalaev, Jan, Hill, Glover and Jiri. Spann will get wrecked by all those guys, I put him in the 2nd tier class of lhw, Johnny Walker, Smith, Volkan, Craig. He'll never crack the top 5 spot.

edit: i know SMith is top 5, but he'll be knocked down soon.

Spann is a flake, but a dangerous one. Glover doesn't have better technique or power in his strikes, esp now with his age. Ankalaev has way better technique but eye test says Spann hits harder. Spann is a guy that it sucks to bet against, because a lot of fights he **should** lose but snags a guillotine off a sloppy shot or lands one big punch that alters the fight.

I do agree Krylov has a solid chin though, so for Krylov bettors that's for sure something to hand their hat on. He's a guy who **might** be able to eat clean shots from Spann and survive where a lot of guys can't.

Spann doesn't have a good chin tho. He was rocked multiple times by Anthony Smith. Koed by Walker. Went to split with Alvey.

If Spann never beat Dom , these odds would be much more wider. I think Krylov will expose him here and we'll be reminded where he lies on the rankings. I actually think his Guillotine choke is more a threat than his swinging barroom boxing.

No I agree, Krylov has a much better chin than Spann from what I've seen. Spann is a glass cannon to a degree. His strikes are wild but he finds a home for them more often than he should.

I liked Krylov's grit and toughness vs Volkan too. Krylov has no quit in him, so even if Spann hurts him it's not necessarily over. Mort PTV's for Krylov. Probably worth the juice, I'd imagine I'll have something on him. And if he gets caught, so be it.

yeah also rewatch the Alvey fight , Alvey rocked him in the end , Spann is a gasser , majority of his wins are R1 . Krylov has a good pace, he chains 4-5 hit combos and then shoots a takedown. His work rate far exceeds Spann's.

Also Spann has some of the most sloppy double legs i've seen. His entries are worse than Curtis Blaydes.

Sami imo is good as an underdog. His kooses are concernig though, but I see him as more skilled fighter

UFC Vegas 70, February 25

I took Jose Johnson +145

Fight at 135 pounds

3.93701 inch reach advantage
5.90551 inches taller, 6'0" height
# 14 bantamweight on Tapology rankings

"They’ve seen good striking but they haven’t seen the striking mixed with the power that I possess at 135. I finish 80% of my fights by knockout… Typically, if you let me get any type of combination off, I’m putting you to sleep… I think the power difference, the size difference, I’m only getting bigger.... Sean O’Malley, this clown, he swears he’s the biggest 135’er in the division and he’s not. He’s 5’11 I’m 6’0. I can’t wait to see him… You’re not the biggest 135’er in the division, I’m gonna show you that, and you don’t possess the same level of knockout power either. You’re kind of like a pop shop fighter.”

What's with Jose being the dog? I know his record is deceiving but I'd have thought he'd be a favorite after his contender series showing.

The odds for this particular fight came out 2 hours ago, Jose Johnson likely becomes favorite soon

My local bookies mfers had Armfield open at 2,50,everyone else had Johnson at plus money, but they didn't let my bet go through and now removed the line, damn.I managed to put 200$ on Johnson at 2,20 at betway
Edit:added 200$ on betonline at 2,35,the line is probably gonna flip

Gabriella Fernandes is going to trash Jasudavicius imo. I can't believe she opened as a dog and I still love the line now as a slight favourite.

Erick Gonzalez +149 will have 5.11811 inch reach advantage and is 1.9685 inches taller

Generated subtitles:

Erick Gonzalez going to be taking on Trevor Peek at UFC Fight Night February 25th it's Eric ghost pepper Gonzalez back here on the program Eric how are you man I'm doing great man it's been a quite the hectic week and weekend but it's good yeah and we were kind of saying off very good timing because we obviously scheduled this for today and we find out yesterday you have a new opponent tell me what happened so your opponent was injured or what's the deal there what happened Darius flowers is who you're supposed to fight yeah you know what I didn't get any answer I mean I didn't even I asked my manager but he didn't say they kind of just pulled them not entirely sure why I just saw everything that I saw on social media that was pretty much it so I didn't really get a response out of why he got pulled out but luckily you know

Trevor Peaks my new opponent apart his guy pulled out so kind of just worked out we're both on the same Fight Card anyways so I'd rather find a guy on a full Camden a guy in a short notice because then you know no excuses yeah exactly no no that's a good point and when they tell you Trevor Peak did you have to look him up or did you were you familiar with them already no I had to look him up I know he's undefeated and I looked him up his record and everything so a lot of first round finishes you know so it's he brings a lot to the table and you know it's I'm hoping to put a dink on that or undefeated record yeah that's always exciting when you can fight someone like that we haven't seen you since August was this by Design was this the right amount of time off or were you trying to get a fight before this no man you know it's just kind of whenever they called me they call me I'm always looking for a fight I was getting ready regardless I was ready for January if it was needed but you know it is what it is I'm here now and I just gotta get this I'm gonna get this win and I want at least get three more fights this year yeah exactly and you know what it's not it's not a Sprint it's a marathon you know you got to take your time when it comes to your career good you're always learning right so you can always use that time to sharpen the iron so to speak it's never fun to talk about a loss here but we got to quickly mention that fight with Terence McKinney what did what did he take away the most from that man because honestly you do learn more from A Loss I'm sure than a win so what were some of the big lessons from that fight you know I think I should be a little bit more patient and then when it came to the grappling you know it kind of just it was kind of like a blank out for me it's never happened that was the first time it ever happened it kind of just blanked out I went for a scramble that shouldn't have gone for made a small mistake and it cost me the fight but you know I did learn a lot from it just be more patient listen to my my coaches a little bit more you know because I I had him on I had him on his on the wobbly legs and I could have finished them and didn't didn't focus in on the on the kill so you know it is what it is and you know like going into this next fight as well you know I'm fighting out coming off too big two big fights in my opinion it's gonna be it's gonna be a lot easier in my opinion now that everything kind of like anxiousness and all that kind of stuff went away and on top of this new this new stuff that I added to my Camp which is has helped me enormous a lot yeah and I should mention our audience that we did lose your video for a bit there so that's why we got the photo up but I can hear you perfectly fine just one last thing from that last fight how are his fans on social media because he's obviously like a pretty notable guy on social media did you get any backlash or how were the fans after that fight you know what man it wasn't too much backlash there's always going to be some you know some crazy people out there that are going to send you some weird messages but in my opinion the the you know they weren't bad at all oh good okay so it's I think that I think it was it was worse after the Jim Miller this time around it wasn't because me and Terence pretty cool you know we we follow each other on social media as well and we keep in contact you know randomly here and here so he's a very good guy at heart man and he's awesome dude and you know outside of the cage you know whatever you know whatever we went to our fly he won it is what it is and on to the next one but he's cool as shit man me and him are really cool and I wouldn't have to wish nothing but the best for him I know he just come he's coming off a very tough loss you know and I hope yeah and then it sounds like he's going he's getting his good grace it sounds like he's back on his his men his positive size so and it really it really never left so yeah no for sure and I'm glad you pointed that out about Terence obviously I'm not talking about him at all because he's he's a good dude it's just you know how fans can be every fan base they've got some passion that you know fans that can be you know they can be crappy sometimes I see it too so it's all good but let's talk about Trevor Peak here your opponent obviously we mentioned it they're undefeated now you've had a chance to kind of look them up how do you feel like you match up against him here you know he reminds me a lot of Jerry's he's just the not as he's fighting on his natural weight class though so it's going to be a guy that's not going to be as strong in my opinion I thought Dairy is gonna is gonna have a tough wake up because he was coming off 170 185 majority of all of his career so you know 15 extra pounds is not easy but Trevor Peak you know is fighting on his natural weight class he's the same hide about the same bleach rushes in kind of like Darius so I'm not looking at much of a different style of of as far as a fighter in my opinion so my game plan is pretty much staying the same and you know we'll we got some stuff that we're adding on to it considering that he's a little bit of a of a different just kind of like his striking's a little bit different and he's a he's a bulldozer when he comes right off the first round so that's pretty much really the only thing I really got to look out for I think that my grappling my striking is better but you know we'll when time comes we'll you know we'll do what we got to do and we're gonna get the win training camp who've been some of the main guys helping you get ready for this one

this camp around man you know normally I'm with fight science I just actually added a new gym which I'm over at Siena Maine I'm with Chad George Josh Barnett and David waters for my wrestling so a lot of these stuff that I've added I've also had a mental coach now that I'm working with and kind of just been on like a this Camp has been because I have all the tools man as a fighter you know I don't doubt my abilities I know I'm one of the best that's the reason I'm fighting in the UFC but you know I added a mental coach and that helped me enormously in in as far as getting my my brain ready for for you know for a fight and getting my head straight so I'm in a better place and I'm gonna in a more calm place in my head so I'm I think I'm very confident in my abilities now I'm very confident that I'm gonna win and I think that'd be the biggest change you know getting my head mentally right for the for this type of scene it's very special when you're in the UFC it's awesome to hear so so with the new gym does that impact your corner who's going to be in the cage with you on February 25th my Corners are going to be Chad George and then one of my teammates a couple of my teammates and that's pretty much it but it's getting some Marcos taco and then a Chad George was the head of cmma currently yeah great gym great coaches how's this fight playing out in the 25th you're a guy that does not like getting paid by the hour I know you go in there you go for the finish how do you expect this one to play out nor expects finish full blast I feel like ground and pound TKO that's pretty much how I see it going down you know if I happen to catch them on the feet I don't like to emphasize Knockouts anymore I don't want to focus on a knockout if it happens it happens it's usually oh Viking goes anyways you know anything can clip you and just fold you over so to me you know I really want to just take advantage of that ground game and I think I'm just going to be a more dominant fighter down there so we'll see how we'll see what happens big fight at the top of your division last weekend we just had Islam and vulcanovsky go toe-to-toe great fight loved it two questions on that first one just your reaction of the fight what did you think of it and two how did you score it because some people felt like maybe vulcanovski did enough for the win you know amazing fight I was surprised that Islam wasn't able to bulldoze him the way I thought he was going to so she says a lot about volcanoxie and I thought I I didn't think that Volk one I thought Islam won that's just you know and I know there's a lot of back and forth people saying that I didn't think it was unanimous decision I thought it was more of a split decision but you know you know both proved it man and I think what'd you get up to for Valentine's Day for me I didn't do much man I kind of just I I did a lot of I did I just was trained for my Camp the fiance worked all day I went for a run on the beach with my dog and then you know the fiance came home watched the TV and that's pretty much it nothing that's the best man I think it's overrated the dinner reservations all that you got to be like three months in advance to get dinner reservations I I cooked some steaks for my wife last night that's that's the way to go not just any steak grass-fed the good steaks you know that's better than going out for a night at dinner because you get you know you get more value that way right so oh absolutely I got some I got my fiancee some flowers and then I mean like this little like kind of it's a rose inside of a water so it's pretty there you go look look at that see I didn't even do that I just I was like I'm gonna a good meal I figure you know give you know the way to the way to you know everyone's heart is is through their stomach right as they say so you gotta gotta go that way but that makes sense and before we get out of here man what are you gaming right now obviously you got the cool setup here what games are you getting into right now I play escape from tarkov that's pretty much the only game I play nowadays and rust two of the major games that I play a lot of it's survival games really fun awesome that's pretty much what I get into though stuff Eric thanks so much for doing this man always a pleasure if there's anyone you'd like to thank before we get out of here any sponsors any social media I'll give you the last word yeah you know icon meal preps from the the UFC Pi man shout out to those people man they're doing a great job and they've been giving me email preps same with my management team upgrade for you know making it happen for me again and also my new camp you know with cmma Chad George Barnett David Waters the biggest his team has been amazing man the guy's in the room his business spectacular probably what it's some of the best work I've gotten but get a mask kicked every single time I go in there and you know I wouldn't want it any other way in the training room so to me I'm just consistently learning and yeah man just a shout out to my fiance my mom and you know everybody that supports me I appreciate you guys
