Woodson was 1-0 heading into that fight coming off the Contender Series. That's standard pay rate. Daukaus was a 3 day notice signing making his UFC debut. If you think this is bad, they would have made a grand or two tops in Bellator. The guy you should feel bad for is Erosa. He's had like 7 UFC fights and is on a $14K/$14K contract. THAT sucks
Woodson already had a non DWCS UFC after that though. He's just getting paid shit. Same with Charles Joubain against Fili last month. He got paid like 14k coming off a TKO of Doo Hoo Choi. Some of this is their managers fault and them not knowing their worth, but majority is the UFC underpaying guys that make them a lot.

I don't get why this is being argued. This is your typical contract for a newbies to the UFC: $10K/$10K first fight, $12K/$12K 2nd fight, $14K/$14K 3rd fight. No negotiating, take it or leave it. You have more leverage after finishing out your first 3 fight deal, depending on how you looked in those fights. Like any other job, unless you're a special talent (like Gaethje for example made way more on his first contract since he was an undefeated champ), you're going to make shit at the beginning in comparison to your more experienced colleagues. That's life bro.

I just think the standard Newbie contract should be a lil higher, considering some guys come in and perform way better than expected. Just seems like low pay for pro athletes

Wow, less than $1.2 million fighter pay for an event that garnered interest on prime time TV for about 6 hours.

And so many prelim fights only cost $40K in combined fighter pay.

lmao people just don't get how rich the UFC is getting off of underpaying athletes. Shits sad lol
