i'm surprised it's taken the culinary union this long to try and organize the fighters. it's the ultimate FU to the fertittas. that said, not gonna happen cuz the top fighters are the ones that would have to be willing to risk their money and necks to get a pro association off the ground or a lawsuit for employment reclassification

The top guys would have to be willing to give up money to the bottom guys. It will never happen just like it never happens in WWE.

I wonder how many of you anti-Zuffa zombies are going to side with the Culinary Union, of all groups, on this one.

So basically a non story since no fighters have approached them. Shady unions are shady.

A few years back AKA threatened to leave the UFC,

I would think it would take fighters willing to hold out in the event of a disagreement. As fighter salaries rise, at some point they may be willing to do this sort of thing.

Otherwise it could also happen if some org. like Bellator was threatening to pick off fighters.

Right now I don't see it happening, ..... but honestly, what do I know

Of all organisations it's the Culinary Union who is trying to organise this? Damn, they are going for the throat.

I tend to be against unions, but in monopoly cases like this, I see real value

sports unions are great overall. It helped so much sports and pro athletes for decades...its actually really the cornerstone of pro sports (which is best in the world/richest in the world) in America.

This. The hardest part will be to get a union up and running though

Culinary Union has succeeded in doing one thing only - keeping MMA out of New York.

You know the UFC will threaten to release any fighter that signs on to this. Should be fun to watch.

It will be ineffective without big name fighters lending their influence.

With how low the fighters get paid its no wonder that the mainstream audience considers mma a joke, if this can bring mma to a higher standard im all for it.

    WAR THE FIGHTERS!

It's been being planned for years. This is nothing new. It's why NY won't legalize, the union pays the NY legislators money to vote no.

Corruption always improves things. This is the same union that pays off legislators to hurt the UFC/Fighters trying to force them to give in.

Unions pushing for $15 minimum wage because no one should make less, swearing they will not ask for any special treatment, have now begun the process of getting laws passed so that any business who joins the union can keep pay at the level it's at and not have to pay $15 minimum wages.

Unions are so horribly corrupt is disgusting.
