Even the fighters end up keeping sponsors, they can't go to UFC events and wear them....maybe?

From my understanding there going to get the uniforms made by say someone like nike or reebok,then the fighter will be allowed to get 1 or 2 individual sponsors not the way it currently is were they try and look like a walking billboard.


If it can create a higher average guarantedd pay for lower guys from say 6k+6k to 20k+20k you cant argue with it.

Sure gsp Anderson wont be happy etc but if there allowed to keep 1 big sponsor they should still be able to get good endorsements

In Ufc 1, Royce and Ken fought each other in a gi and speedo. Now they want to make all the fighters look alike.

I think a "uniform" in a fight sport setting is just kind of silly.

It would be like having every boxer wear the same robes, trunks, shoes, gloves, etc.

No color? No flare? You mean the Mexican fighters aren't coming out with 4 flags, 10 belts and the Mexican Boxing mascot with the crazy eyes?

No Mexico Vs. Puerto Rico flags/colors in the fighters would kind of take away from the atmosphere of the rivalry IMO.

That would be tragic, and honestly I don't wish that on MMA either.

Russia Vs. Brazil could be that rivalry for MMA, let that be a uniform of its own.

Ridiculous. Takes away individuality of the fighters. Certain color schemes and shorts style are iconic. Like Anderson's skin tight black and yellow.

It's a great idea. They should also start wearing rubber masks with numbers and the company logo on them. Jon Jones could be called "UFC Nike fighter 1A" and Stefan Struve "UFC Heineken fighter 3C" etc.

theres no real way to enforce it

in a team sport uniforms are a symbol of pride for your team in an individual sport a uniform for your gym might make sense but not for a company

I think we have to blame Dennis Hallman for this..
This is still haunting Dana in his sleep.
The only way to stop this from happening again is the uniforms.
Its not about money or anything else its about Dennis Hallman I tell ya!

it's a terrible idea. All sports benefit from colourful characters. Look at how PRIDE built up their fighters as streetfighteresque superheros from all around the world, for instance. People have been complaining about the cookie cutter boring ass modern MMA fighters for some time already, and this takes it to a whole new level of blandness.
